A family activity at the farm.....skeet shooting. Whether you are a first timer or experience the staff is always willing to help you and it makes for a fun day. Allow at least 1 hr. and you can shoot as many or as few as you wish.

Good luck having someone call you back after 5pm. You had best just dial 911 to get service at this facility on the weekend. If you plan on going to this location you had best just show up and hope there is room for you. I have tried for three weeks to get someone to call back after five having left a message with their after hours answering service. Have left messages, emails asking about what shotguns are available for rent and I just got someone to answer during the week now, it's a miracle, and we can't help you we have an event this weekend.

The Fork Farm is a spectacular place. The Bed & Breakfast is beautifully appointed and it is nestled on this 1300 acre horse ranch. The horse barn is a magnificent structure with amazing detail and architecture. Fishing, hiking, horse back riding (bring you own horses), clay shooting or just a relaxing place to chill and enjoy this incredible property. Lots of wildlife on one of the most peaceful settings in North Carolina.

This place is in the middle of nowhere, yet close to get to, which makes it a great trip. The farm is extremely well kept and maintained, beautiful rolling hills and trees. Once you get past the gate, drive on and there is a sign for "guest register here" in a small office. We didn't see anywhere there but followed the signs for sporting clays and they will take you to the shooting lodge. Very nice place to sign up for courses or other activities. The long course is a not too far walking and very challenging stations. We only experienced a couple of missfiring where the clay is thrown against a tree, no flight. Otherwise, it was awesome and will go back again for sure. The 5 station covered area had more clay missfires, and the crew went out quickly to fix them. Highly recommend.

My friend and I were out on one of our day trips and this was on our to do list. Betty had to show me this wonderful and unique getaway. The grounds were immaculate,simply beautiful. As we drove in, the fishing pond was on the left and the two chairs on the bank made it so inviting. The lodge with its rocking chairs also beckon you to enjoy the serenity. We drove out the shooting range where guests are allowed to shoot clay disks under safe conditions. The barn was designed with understated elegance. I understand it is used for dinners. The whole facility is set up to ensure that guest have a wonderful and restful visit.

On my annual drive from Miami to The Berkshires I try to do it in a manner as least stressful as possible (I need my SUV up there). I took a chance on a stopover at The Fork as the opportunity to shoot sporting clays attracted me. Firstly, if you come here be prepared to make your own music because the only other music is provided by the mockingbirds and cardinals. Tranquility rules in a beautiful setting of an immaculately mana cured farm. The guest house is simple, spotless, quiet, and relaxing if you appreciate sitting in a rocker looking out on a pasture. Be prepared to bring your own lunches and dinner food to prepare yourself in a full kitchen adjacent to the room. Having shot sporting clays at a number of better known venues I can say without question that this course is as good as it gets. I had little interaction with staff except on arrival and that experience was first class. I am sorry my wife was not along as this is a killer couples spot. I look forward to returning in the Fall when I head back to Florida.

We just returned from a weekend away with 7 other couples (8 total) and had a fabulous time. An easy drive from Charlotte, NC and total relaxation while we were there! The facility is stunning and there was plenty to do. We rented out the entire lodge (9 rooms total) and brought a picnic lunch and some breakfast food. There is a full kitchen in the lodge and also a fireplace. We had a dinner catered in the barn-- which was an incredible venue. We did the 7 stand shooting course just for fun and it was so much fun! Our hayride was canceled due to single digit temperatures, but we had fun relaxing by the fire. The farm is pristine and this was a great getaway with friends.

The Forks Lodge was the gathering place for our recent family reunion. The facility was fantastic! The bedrooms were comfortable and the common room and front porch (complete with at least 10 rocking chairs) allowed family members to sit comfortably and talk and talk and talk! Some folks took walks, others fished, and some took advantage of the clay shooting facility. The scenery was incredible. It was a wonderful location to reconnect with family.

Four of us went Saturday of the past Thanksgiving weekend. It's a bit out there from Charlotte, but it was worth the drive. The grounds are beautiful. Johann, the Belgian manager of the skeet shooting operation (and maybe other things, too, but that's what I saw) is friendly, responsive, and knowledgeable. We met the owner, too, who seemed like a good guy.
The course itself is 14 stations with two clay throwing machines each station. The landscape is beautiful and you're far enough away from other shooters so that it's not too loud -- there was hardly anyone else out there, which made it even better. $45 per person buys you unlimited sporting clays. We brought our own shotguns and shells, so we could have gotten away with only $45 for the day (plus around $25 each for shells), but we also rented a golf cart (only $20 for the day).
If you do all 14 stations plan on at least 100 shells per person, maybe a few more if you want to do some extra shooting.

Nice stables; dressage and equestrianism events were great. They have skeet shooting and other activities too.
