Love going here and love that it is free so everyone can enjoy it. Some of beds were torn up to be redone when we visited in Oct 2022 and not handicapped friendly, but otherwise really great. Would love to see more connecting paths added in the future.

Ice-cream from NC State. Bird house construction contest for all ages -- unique construction by all ages. Lots of plants on sale and a very pleasant and welcoming atmosphere. Had to use street parking.

This space is a gem, wedged in an industrial neighborhood right off of I-440. It's a lovely place to wander and explore, although my very favorite spots are the Asian Valley and the Japanese Garden--both hold native and non-native plants that are lovely and give us so many ideas for our own garden. Even in winter, there's so much to see--the Japanese Crepe Myrtles have such amazing bark--I've done a couple of watercolors from my photos.
Maps are necessary, because the layout is one of short vistas (mostly) and surprising highlights that come suddenly into view. This is a great spot to see which plants thrive in Raleigh's scorching summer climate. Highly recommend.

A wonderful garden with many species of plants. The map at the entrance was helpful and needed for those without a good sense of direction. Anyone that likes flowers/gardening/beauty would appreciate this place.

Been a while since I've been to the Ralston Arboretum. The parking lot was full and now I understand why. Just a beautiful display of many flowers in a myriad of colors.
At this time of year with so many plants blooming the Arboretum is much more beautiful than the more famous Duke Gardens which I visited recently.
Good signage throughout the Gardens telling you the name of the plants and flowers. The Gardens are very well maintained.
The Arboretum is near the State Fairgrounds. This is definitely is a must see in Raleigh especially when the color is so beautiful.

We so enjoyed our 3 hour visit to these gardens. So many beautiful plants, trees and flowers. It was a delight to stroll through the different sections of the gardens. Very well maintained. Highly recommend this outstanding garden.

Pets (service animals excluded) are not allowed at the JC Raulston Arboretum, but guests may bring a picnic. Visitor etiquette information can be found on the JCRA's Web site at jcra.ncsu.edu.
