Interesting spot. Great for a stop over before continuing your journey. The fire station next door had a wonderful mural as well.

We stopped over for a quick bite and while walking around found this awesome monument. There is also a fire station nearby which has a great mural.

It's a quirkfest. Good on the Keithonians for hoisting the Land Rover. The world needs more Keiths. If your traveling from Sydney, like us, it's probably not why your in SA, but it's worth a squiz.

Utterly amazing. We stopped and stood for hours, marvelling at this modern mystery. We pondered such questions as who's Landrover is it? Why did they decide to park it there? What does it represent? Is it true that the Landrover stands for all the fallen Landrovers in the world, or perhaps it represents the Emu War, and the proud legacy that the Emu warriors left us?
We found a local and asked, "Does the Landrover represent the decline of society and the burning of the Earth?" They told us to piss off out of their shop if we weren't buying anything. That only created more questions. Eventually the police were called and we were told to leave the state.
But, the Landrover On A Pole. It haunts me. It invades my dreams at night, I toss and turn and wonder, why? Who? What? But, it is true, some things are destined to remain a mystery. Truly the Landrover On A Pole is one of the Eight Great Wonders of the Modern World.
We found a local and asked, "Does the Landrover represent the decline of society and the burning of the Earth?" They told us to piss off out of their shop if we weren't buying anything. That only created more questions. Eventually the police were called and we were told to leave the state.

Keith is a nice place to stop for a while on a long trip, even overnight. The Land Rover on a pole is not really much to look at, but it's more so what it represents, and the surrounding park is nice to have mornos at.

Interesting to say the least. Not quite sure what the jeep on a pole has to do with AMP helping locals in rural development in years gone by. No info we saw explained this.

I wouldn't make a visit just to see this but if in the neighbourhood do take a look. A tribute to times when Land Rovers were the kings of these roads. Good cafe nearby - Henry and Rose.

Queensland may have its big Pineapple and Coffs its Big Banana but whilst its not a tourist attraction but a monument Keith is the only place in the world to see a Landrover on a pole so put it on your bucket list to take a driving break with a picnic in the park on the highway to Adelaide, read the plaque and take a selfie to show all your friends what they have missed out on.
