This is an excellent Railway Museum but it also has the added attraction of displays relating to the history of the district. Important that the type of displays are kept taking advantage of the unique location.

Spent a couple of hours going back in time at this well laid out Museum. Plenty of local history. Make sure you climb up into the Signal Box. For $5 seniors, it was a wonderful experience. Friendly staff.

well worth a visit if you are into railways. The tour was great and plenty to see, the signal box is a winner.

We wandered through the museum, thoroughly enjoyed all the exhibits of yesteryear and everything was in good condition. This is due to the dedication of many hours over a long period of time of volunteer work. Job well done to all. Heaps to see covering lots of diverse range of exhibits, early nineteen hundreds, Pioneer age of Australia.

Having worked on the railways for 6 months at Merredin in 1966 this was indeed a walk down memory lane.Seeing all the old equipment & actually being on the station again &
seeing the changes that had happened in the town was poignant.It brought back a lot of old memories including remembering some of my old workmates.One part of the museum was a tribute to some of the women over the years who had made great
contributions to the town & some of whom had husbands working on the railways.

There should be more of these type exhibits. Close to the Info Centre and other interesting museums. Good range of exhibits. Should be advertised more. Only for our railway directory, we wouldn't have known about it - wasn't there when I lived in WA. Added bonus was seeing the Prospector go through.

Helpful volunteer gave me a key to have a look inside the signal box. Plenty of original equipment to keep your interest.

Had time to fill in so went for a tour. $3.00 entry for nomads and well worth a look. So many olden day items have been collected from Dolls and Teddies, to phones, lanterns, carriages and engines. Clothes etc - everything to do with the Railway era.
We climbed the tower to the Signal office and had fun pretending we could move them, Was also a good view of the platform and town.
