After reading other reviews, my friend and I stopped at the gallery for some unique locally made gifts and we were not disappointed. The gallery has an amazing about of things to choose from. While some of the things are rather expensive, particularly the handmade pottery and paintings, but there are many reasonably priced items as well. The owners of the gallery are extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the various artists. The only problem I had was limiting what I bought!
Sadly, after 21 years, at the end of October, the gallery will be closing it's doors for good. However if you are visiting the Outer Banks and you're looking for a wonderful experience, make the drive to Salvo and visit and enjoy the Pea Island Art Gallery.

Adorable shop with a great selection of local artistry. Paintings, magnets, pottery, jewelry, and much more to choose from that make wonderful gifts. The staff was very professional and helpful. We will definitely be back.

Everyone was really nice. Had a variety of pottery,paintings, photography and unique christmas ornaments. They also do online sales, so I have my christmas presents covered. Worth the stop if looking for local artist work.

Is close until April 2020. State it was open that why we stop also had excellent reviews. Sorry it was closed was looking to see what they had. Maybe next time

Interesting place packed with so much to look at you can easily spend an hour and miss a few noteworthy items. Definitely worth a visit.
Do expect the jewelry displayed in cases around the counter (without visible prices) to be expensive - but it is well made and includes some irresistibly unique designs.
The paintings and other artwork are wonderful, and there are a lot of smaller pieces ideal for bringing home to remind you of the sunny beaches during the cold winter months.

Horrible experience. I have been waiting to shop here for a few months now. We are here on vacation from Michigan. I had one day to stop here. I had items I wanted to purchase for myself and as Christmas gifts. There was almost 10 minutes before it was suppose to close. As I walked up the ramp, the older lady locked the doors and started to turn off the lights. I knocked on the door and she came and unlocked the door to talk to me. I asked if they were open. She said they were closed and I said the sign said they were open until 5:00. Her answer...."It's close enough!" WOW!! I hope the owner reads this and has a talk with her. Our family has been in the retail business for years. We would never have turned anybody away! How disappointing!!

This place has a variety of art and artists, from ceramics and woodwork to fine art and jewelry. One of the nicest places on the Outer Banks. No cookie cutter, tacky souvenir stuff. Owner is knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Great place.

I’m so glad I checked TripAdvisor to see things to do while visiting that side of OBX. (We stayed in Corolla. FYI it took about an hour and a half to get there.) What a LOVELY art gallery! For a smallish space it had over 100 local artists’ work on display! My husband and I perused the gallery for well over an hour enjoying the beautiful creative art. I ended up purchasing a driftwood & carved birds piece which brings me great joy each time I look at it, and a handcrafted barrette that has already received compliments. It’s worth the trip! Enjoy!

Can I submit photos to your Photo of the Month or Day? We visited Pea Island this weekend and what a perfect place and time we had. Our son just purchased the largest beach house from LA’s Black Dog. We had such a wonderful time ( tho his house was already rented out) the smndnities a super! The local beach sublime. The two evenings there presented the most amazing sunset of lights and colors, of which I took pictures. Although I only had my iPhone as a camera the photos are still stunning.
Our 1 1/2 day visit did not give us much time to wander beyond the house, the beach, and family activities, but I am “absolutely” looking forward to visiting your gallery in our future visits to Salvo.
