Our 8 year old and I explored this beach for a few hours in early April. We parked as far south as we could and accessed the beach from there. It was approaching low tide and wasn’t busy at all for a Friday in April. We were hoping to find shells but there weren’t many. We walked all the way down to the jetty and back - almost 2 miles. The sand is clean and soft.
I learned later that there’s a gentleman who creates sand mazes on this beach. Sounds fun!

We have visited this beautiful beach on several occasions at different times of the year! We are always amazed how clean and beautiful they keep this beach! We were so elated to see the air conditioned rest rooms! I fabulous beach, we will always go to Sunset Beach!

What a nice park area with plenty of parking, a wood walkway to the beach, and viewing/seating areas. It was just lovely.

This was such a beautiful quiet beach ! We almost had it all to ourselves! The sand was perfect ! It took a little bit figuring out where to park. But I think we missed the main parking lot.

Very clean beach. Other guests were friendly and clean cut. The parking was free. The whole community seemed very nice.

This is a very nice park. It has benches and plenty of shade, nice water view. There is a walking path and a couple of short docks to fish from. In the summer it has weekly craft shows. Only negative is that it can get crowded and hard to find parking sometimes - especially during craft shows.

This is a really nice beach, only 10 mins from Calabash. The fire chief who runs the safety here is a bit overzealous when it comes rules regarding the use of umbrellas and what they call “cabanas” but we didn’t let him spoil our time on the beach. The restrooms and amenities here are very nice too. There’s a free parking lot, which fills up quickly, as well as a $10 parking lot. The sand is very soft and fine here, uniquely different.

We enjoyed walking our dogs here while visiting the area. It is well kept, shaded, and provided a nice water view. They also had benches and bathrooms available.

It is like going on an expedition some half a century ago in Asia, there are no amenities at all. Tourists are to fend for themselves. The place has zero amenities. It is not maintained in terms of looking after.

What a nice park ! Very tranquil with lots of benches and swings. Unique look at intercoastal waterway and bird filled marsh. Also a nice veterans memorial.

Hi everyone! For our honeymoon we would like to visit the places where Sparks' books are set in, but we can't rent a car. Is it possible to reach Sunset Beach by bus?

You can put them in at the township ramp but it will be a little difficult to maneuver them in the intracoastal with all the big boats that pass through.
