Average with so much Potential. We were passing through the area and decided to check out their bbq. Three of us had brisket, and 1 tried the ribs. While we liked the flavor of the brisket, a couple us didn't like how fatty it was. Having a choice between fatty and lean brisket would have been welcome. We all wanted more sauce on our sandwiches, but there was no sauce on the table. A choice of a couple sauces would have been nice. We all tried their famed cornbread which was dry and crumbly. The best thing on my plate was the kettle potato chips. 5 out of 5 on those, nice and crispy and perfectly seasoned. I might try this spot again if we are back in the area, but hope they might make a few changes first.

We ate at the Laughing Sun Brewing Co. on July 12, 2022 and again on July 28, 2022. On July 12, our pulled pork sandwiches and coleslaw were great. When we returned on July 28, the pulled pork sandwiches that we were served consisted of cold meat on soggy buns with bitter-tasting coleslaw. The wait staff on July 12 were friendly and attentive. The wait staff on July 28 appeared bored with working and were not concerned about customer service.

We arrived for dinner at Laughing Sun and found it very busy. We placed our food order at the counter and were told the food would take around an hour. Finding a table, we sampled some of the local brews. The food arrived and it was very good. We had reservations for one of the weapons throwing lanes. We received instructions and demonstrations for the various items. The live band began to play and we started our weapon throwing adventure. The lanes next to us were all in use and a good time was had by everyone there. The band was very enjoyable. We highly recommend this establishment. If possible, make reservations for the lanes prior to arriving. Expect a long wait for your food and be guided accordingly.

Perfect stop on our travel through North Dakota. The brewery had a fun vibe. I really wanted to order some of the bbq but we had just eaten lunch. Everyone’s food looked so good!

Excellent restaurant with good ambiance and excellent food. We had sandwiches and brisket as well as beer all done in house and very well. Service was fast.

If Laughing Sun were only a brewery, it would be worth visiting. They make a wide variety of really good beers (I was partial to the Magic Fish), so you can pretty much expect to find something that you’ll like. However, Laughing Sun is more than a brewery. It’s also a barbecue restaurant; we particularly enjoyed the brisket and the burnt ends. On top of that, there’s also live music on a regular basis and you can also partake in axe throwing provided that you reserve a lane on the website. Plus, you can find Laughing Sun’s beer throughout the area. I highly recommend that you visit Laughing Sun - plan to stay for a few hours!

Our son and daughter-in-law held their reception here. The staff, food and all accommodations we nothing less than excellent.

And two more: beer cheese. I used to think that Harpoon Brewery in Boston had the best soft pretzels, but I was wrong. Laughing Sun’s are the very best! And the cornbread and the rest of the food was great too, as was the beer of course. Highly recommend!

Where else in the country can you order from a pretty conventional BBQ menu in a joint that features craft beers, live entertainment, and ax throwing contests? Laughing Sun is different ... and the 'cue is darned good. For $51.77, we ordered a craft beer (the Belgian Sinister), a soft drink, a pound of wings with all the trimmings, a half pound of burnt ends, and brisket with mac 'n cheese and house made cornbread. The meats were all on point. Whether wet or dry, the burnt ends (KC style) were moist and full of well seasoned flavor. The fatty end of the brisket was lightly seasoned, with decent bark and good smoke. It was still moist, although we were eating more than 4 hours after the restaurant opened. The wings were also nicely smoked and juicy, and this without a trip through an air or deep fryer. Excellent cornbread and tasty mac 'n cheese rounded out the meal, although the mac would have been better if they had thinned the cheese sauce to allow it to penetrate the pasta more effectively.
In sum, of the 7 'cue joints in North Dakota with a conventional BBQ menu that we have visited, Laughing Sun was the best.
