Kid rock fiasco, they raised the gate to $12 just to get in. Handicap parking is messed up, the cut the parking in half with poles in the concrete in the south east area next to the ticket booths.

As a vendor in the North Dakota estate fair we discovered that the guts and soulIs this fair is rotten. The management here is running off those that would like to participate in this fair. This was evidence in the very light numbers in the horse and livestock barns. In the commercial exhibits Most all vendors were new vendorsThat had never attended the state fair. It became very clear why vendors of previous years had not chosen to return. Management show that they have no integrity whatsoever. Contracts and agreements or disregarded when Fair management decides it is what they want. Rules are made up changed and modified on the fly without any consideration what it does to the vendors.
Part of our exhibit to draw people to our booth is a blue and gold parrot( see picture). The public loved the bird and would stop by and stare at him. The children were allowed to feed him sunflower seed and special needs children were allowed to pet the bird.
Without explanation cause reason we were told that the bird had to leave. When we stood up to them and told him that it was a violation of our contract with them they brought the sheriff in evicted from the fair.
All in all the fair is Just another fair but the arrogant to the manager makes this a place We will never come back to and will not recommend anybody to come to there are better fairs In neighbouring states.

We went here for the annual Scandinavian festival and had a wonderful time. The center is well laid out and easy to navigate. Plenty of restrooms for a public facility and really courteous staff.

Everything was clean and accessible, our 4y/o had a blast, we looked at campers, ate great fair food. The concert venue this year was second to none. We had a great time.

we went to the yearly flea market and it was huge. Lots of space to enjoy walking around. The staff on duty were helpful and accommadating. We had a great timr shopping and the food venders were good but spendy

Every year my family goes to the state fair. My kids have been 4-H exhibitors at the fair for the past 10 years. This will be the first year that my kids will not be elgible to participate in the 4-H exhibits, but we definitely will go and enjoy all the sites and carnival food!

Wow the Fair Center puts on a great fair but so much more. They have so many activities there all the time. It is a great facility and we are lucky to have it in Minot ND.

I have been to the fair a few times as my son lives in Minot, ND. Always had a good time and totally worth the $10 bucks to get in. Can get a little pricey if you have kids as there is a Carnival there as well. Do not go for the first food you see, the better stands are farther in. They do have refillable cups to save a few bucks and there are water fountains for bottles as it is hot there. Restrooms and shade are around if it is not too crowded. Have been to the first weekend and the last weekend and the first weekend is not so crowded and you get to watch the parade.

I grew up in Minot, ND so I was used to attending the State fair every year, plus working there for side money as a kid. Great memories! And Murphy Brothers Exposition never fails to put on a good midway of rides & games. I was very impressed with free parking and the reasonable gate fee for entering. The amount & diversity of food vendors was great. And they put up a very nice food court style eating area now, with picnic tables every where. Very nice! But the prices to eat or drink are out of line. $8.00 for a lemonade? That's sports arena prices. Not what a family out for a fun time at the fair should have to pay.
Plenty of rest rooms around, which is great. We got warm walking around, so we went into the All Seasons Arena to cool down, and watched the ladies barrell racing. Very entertaining, and a great way to catch a break & cool down. This fair still has the old feel to it. And it's always great to go through the animal barns and see the young ladies & young men attending their prize animals. Very friendly atmosphere across the entire fair. Highly recommended, and we are greatful for all of your hospitalities. This is what makes the North Dakota State Fair what it is. The people. Thank you Minot / Magic City for allowing this old man to revisit such a grand affair, and to share it this time with my teenage grand daughter. Absolutely wonderful.

Great flea market with many different vendors with interesting items. Prices were reasonable. Items ranged from advertising memorabilia to home made baking. Cheap admission - $1. Fun couple of hours and went home with some treasures!
