A great collection of local heritage, hosted by a wonderful group of volunteers. Make sure you have time to explore both buildings.

The old train station is the obvious part of the museum, but go to the building behind it (east) for the full experience! The old school house, the cabin, and train caboose are also worth visiting. An excellent place to stop for lunch, as it is on the highway between Lethbridge and Calgary.

An excellent historical museum located between Lethbridge & Calgary, with several picnic tables, memorial gardens, and an amazing range of exhibits housed in several buildings: an 1886 sandstone railway station, a one-room schoolhouse from 1903, and a unique pioneer log cabin. In the adjacent exhibit hall is a fascinating range of artifacts, furniture, clothing, vehicles and tools of various trades all arranged to walk you through life in Alberta over a century ago. FREE admission, although donations are appreciated. High,y recommended.

Very interesting! Photo booth was fun. Dressing up in old clothes and hats and taking photos. Handy location on Highway 2 in Claresholm.

This museum is incredible.Everything from vehicles to clohing. Examples of life in the past, wagons and even an old school house. Really something to see.

I was surprised that I hadn't heard of this place before. This is not your average small-town Alberta museum. Entrance is by donation. The staff are very friendly, helpful and comfortable with letting you know if they don't know an answer. The restored CPR Railway station on the street side is a tourist information place, with some good historical exhibits. The Exhibit Hall out back is where the toilets are, but it is well worth the time to look around. All of the things exhibited are from the local area. From the donations plaques in the foyer, there have been a lot of people who have supported this museum over time. There exhibits of vehicles, home life, fire department, war memorabilia, Sons of Norway, professions, sports and Indigenous peoples.

Quick stop here while wife stayed in the car. My interest is RR things and there were plenty to see. Free and nice talk staff of two young woman

Turned in for a quick rest stop. An interesting little museum with very friendly and talkative staff -- we stayed and chatted for a while. The museum, filled with old artifacts makes the stop more interesting -- to get out and stretch the legs. They have the main building (I believe an old train station) and a few out lying buildings that you may walk through.

These people are great to put up with our large tour groups who need a bathroom break. But it was a surprise to see such nice realistic old-time displays. Be sure to visit the back buikdin g for the exhibits with nicely clothed mannequins and interesting displays in room-like settings. And free coffee and cookie too! A few items to buy.

Our bus stopped here for excellent donuts and cookies. The museum has interesting artifacts, farm equipment and old cars. Very informative staff.
