Some artists get inspiration from landscapes, a life changing experience or perhaps a challenge- I believe the best daydream!
It began at the legendary Shiraz producer Mount Langi Ghiran in the state of Victoria where his family were part owner and his uncle was the winemaker. Being close to a world class inspiration and enjoying the possibilities of Shiraz WM Marcus Ansems (Adelaide University, South Africa, Tuscany, Rhone, Ontario, Blasted Church Vineyards, Therapy Vineyards, Master of Wine) pursued his dream with the renowned Aussie fervour we all admire.
Finishing university Marcus globetrotted continents gaining expertise, and learning tradition until he met his wonderful wife Rachel whilst in Niagara. The wine smitten couple transplanted to the Okanagan in 2004 and daydreamed together to create the beautiful award-winning and internationally recognized portfolio on the Naramata Bench (2013).
Daydreamer Wines is proof that a quaint, unassuming cabana can have a surprising silver lining. Organic, hand picked, basket press, wild fermented and unapologetically Australian!

Friendly staff, high quality wines! The outdoor sitting area is very peaceful. This gem is off the beaten path in Naramata, but very much worth it. The story behind the winery and its owners is incredible. We love to support small, family owned and operated wineries and we are so glad we found this one!

Great wine tasting experience. Adam the host was very knowledgeable and informative. The organic wine experience was second to none. Highly recommend a stop here.

Wine tasting led by the winemaker who knows his stuff. Extremely helpful knowledgeable. Truly original, natural wines, with extraordinary range and variety. A hidden gem in an unassuming spot.

We first visited Marcus and Daydreamer Wines in 2016 when they first opened their wine shack. Fast forward to 2022 and we were able to get back to Daydreamer in person again.
Such amazing wines. Unique and telling such a story of each grape.
If you want great natural wines, this place is a must.

***Hidden Gem*** Daydreamer Wines is proof that a quaint, unassuming cabana can have a surprising silver lining. Organic, hand picked, basket press, wild fermented and old school winemaking tradition- it’s a “MUST VISIT”!
Australian born and recently transplanted to the Okanagan, Marcus is bringing over 15 years of harvest experience and a “Master of Winemaking” to produce world class wines on the Naramata Bench.
We met wife Rachel and Jack-all-trades Adam who were delightful and very eager to share the family journey in winemaking and the dedicated approach to organic farming. Adam works as a cellar hand, connoisseur of wines as well as a presenter. Getting the first hand knowledge of the farming aspect, to wine making and then food pairing is the ultimate experience! Very engaging and very authentic. It compels you to want to learn more, appreciate the craft and certainly draw comparisons to other wineries. Simply: family based, organic, craft/small lot, purest quality, invested approach vs corporations.
Sipping wines, listening to their history whilst sheep graze the yard… you are transported to an old world era- magical!

This little gem is a must add to your wine touring in Naramata! Adam was a professional and consummate host who was both friendly and knowledgeable, making the experience stand out.

Our group of amateur winemakers were on our annual pilgrimage to the southern Okanagan to pick some of the finest grapes that will make the most beautiful wines. Part of our routine is to visit local wineries so we can taste the best and see how our wines stand up. We had not been to Naramata Bench previously, and thought we would check it out. Daydreamer Wines is a remarkable enterprise that reminds us of days gone by - small, unpretentious, and makes amazing wines! The rustic tasting room was awesome. The experience was enhanced by our host Adam, an ex-pat from the UK, who was thrilled to be working in the industry and learning from Marcus. He walked us through a relaxed and informative tasting and was totally up to the banter and humour our group had to offer. Five stars for Adam and for the winery! Outstanding experience! We will definitely be joining the wine club to take advantage of the new releases that were sold out.

We discovered this winery through another wine maker and so glad we did. Lovely little winery, unpretentious, quality wines and welcoming staff. The focus is on the wine and not on chi-chi nonsense which I deeply respect. We enjoyed the wines and the stories. Book this one...it's worth it.
