Must Check out Avormen Apparel down Hill street, just off the market place, it only opened in December 2021, it’s Wisbech's best kept secret, cheaper than online sells brands Like Gym King, Bee Inspired Clothing, Valére Milano and 11° Clothing, it’s small but Mighty sells everything from socks to Coats, it even has a Changing room no need to go to Kings Lynn or Peterborough to get a decent Hoodie 🤩

My grandparents were born in wisbech as was my late mother my husband and I use to take her there to get chittlins and samfire of which I still love to this day we use to visit my second cousin Eric Catlin who was a wonderful man.

There are two ways to consider reviewing a Market Place. One is re the general look and interest of the buildings and infrastructure, and the other is re any actual market that there might be.
As far as looks and interest are concerned, this Market Place is rather unremarkable and, to be blunt, dull.
As far as actual markets are concerned, I guess it depends on which day you visit (assuming that there is any difference) but when we were there, the half a dozen stalls didn’t hold our attention for very long.

Run down and needs some urgent attention to what shops are there and tidyness. Could be a really nice place to visit but not at the moment.

Can find a haircut for only £5, many classy shops to browse, and a market some days too. Well worth a visit and lovely to have a town with so many diverse shops, a department store and Loafers for marvellous food and coffee.

Despite markets such as Lincoln market being called off today the Wisbech Christmas market went ahead.
Lots of stalls and interesting items for sale.
The town centre was closed to traffic so pedestrians were able to wander about freely.
The snow added to the seasonal atmosphere.

Passing through, but wish I had more time to stay. Wonderful Museum by the Church, fully recommended if you have children to capture their imaginations. Exhibits in Victorian cabinets and I loved the local history as I do family research in this area. The slavery exhibits I found really interesting especially the "man trap". Run by very friendly volunteers, some talks when fully staffed. Wisbech Church is worth a visit too and the gardens are very pretty. Lots of Charity Shops to view for any hidden bargains. The Crescent is worth looking at too with its row of Georgian Houses. Free Parking too so what's not to like! A visit is what you make it and there was a lot crammed into ours.

Visited on a Sunday as there was an event on at the Wisbech museum.
Walked around the market place which was really busy with market traders and car boot sellers.
Lots of shoppers and families walking about.
The High Street is about to receive a major investment as part of a HLF project to regenerate the High Street.
Free Parking is only in designated bays and outside these areas parking tickets may be issued.
Sometimes there are events on the market place organised by the town council.

I've never been to Wisbech & now I know why. It looked so inviting by the North Brink and then the mistake was made of strolling across to the town centre & market.
It is falling down, full of fast food takeaways and dank looking cafes (with the obligatory vote Tory poster to entice their customers).
Crumbling facades, closed this and closed that. A half empty market on a Saturday (ps the butchers in the market was very good), shuffling locals smoking copiously and swigging from their tins of special brew. Blaring dance music from impatient cars, this place makes Jaywick look posh. It has an air of deprivation and no care for its presentation.
Out of desperation we headed in for lunch to a hotel, it was a basic lunch, staff pleasant enough, nothing to shout home about or to entice you back. The Rose & Crown must have been beautiful once, but again it has a lost in the 1980s, never found gold again vibe to it.
A town forgotten, or just heavily neglected, such a shame when it is surrounded by the stunning fenland. The Fenlands will be revisited, Wisbech town centre will not.
