Wonderful place to go horse riding . Had a brilliant hack out today . Lovely happy forward going , but very sensible horses and ponies to ride . Their welfare and happiness is really high on the agenda and you can tell when you ride them , that they are happy and calm . It’s a great area for riding on the tracks and part of the forest with very minimal road work . The staff are friendly and helpful and the facilities are great . There are menages too for lessons . Watched a bit of one today and again - lovely ponies and horses . I really recommend this place as a life long rider, previous owner and lover of horses and riding .

I’ve been to several riding schools over the years in between having my own horses. This is hands down the BEST. The standard of care for the horses is what stands out to me most. It’s refreshing to see as some riding schools don’t make this a priority.
The variety of horses is excellent and there is something for everyone regardless of level. All the horses are polite, friendly and exceptionally well schooled. The standard of teaching is also excellent and the instructors know the horses so well. I have learned more here in a few months than I have in years at other yards. I would recommend to anyone at any level of riding.

My cousin and I came for a ride and spa holiday for my 50th birthday at Cheshire (Willington Hall Riding Centre). The riding school was wonderful. The staff so lovely and the horses are beautiful. The stables are beautifully kept and the horses are so loved and cared for. We had 3 riding lessons and depending on riding ability, a hack out is available too. I rode the gorgeous gentleman Timmy and my cousin rode the beautiful Tulip. Our instructor Chris was so wonderful, patient and knowledgeable. She knew our level of riding straight away and pushed us to come out of our shells but also knew our limits. She was so lovely and thoughtful, taking photos for us, chatting and understanding any worries we had. The horses were just so amazing and beautiful. I cannot recommend this riding venue enough, nothing was a trouble, the staff were so friendly and kind and we had a magical experience that we will treasure forever. Thank you so much.

When the late Tina turner recorded “the best” it must have been after a lesson or trek at willington hall riding centre. I have so many fabulous memories of riding here when I lived in Cheshire. Great horses, great instructors, great facilities and unmatched treks in picturesque countryside including the kelsall hill farm ride. All round very nice people too who I stay in touch with on social media.

After riding when I was younger I decided to start again (after a 20 year gap) but wanted to do it right this time. I've been riding here for about a year and it's wonderful, the yard staff are efficient and helpful and the instructors are great. This is the yard and these are the horses to come to if you want to learn to actually ride, not just leisure hack. The horses are competition standard but kind - they'll do what you tell them eg. you say go straight - they'll go straight out the school if you don't tell them to turn but this ultimately makes you a better rider. I've progressed so much better here than anywhere else, you learn to control the horse rather than the horse just knowing the lesson format. I've really gone back to basics and had to unlearn some common habits from other riding schools but I'm so pleased I did and would recommend Willington to anyone.

Booked a dressage experience with a friend and had the most amazing time! The instructors and staff were super friendly and helpful and we both learnt so much. The horses are so well educated (and exceptionally well cared for!) and they have such a variety that really can cater for everyone.
Cannot recommend it enough!! Will 100% be returning when I can!

Really taken back by how I was spoken too. I have had two lessons here with christine which were amazing she is such a great teacher and I was loving my lessons. Unfortunately this week I had to cancel on the morning as I’m full of a cold and it’s pouring with rain so any person would do the same after calling to reschedule I was told bluntly ‘no’ then said we have a 24 hour cancellation. Then nothing. I then said I would normally call in advance but I’m poorly the lady then said ‘Iv taken you out for today’ and that was it. I then proceeded to say how rude she was and that she had now lost a customer because of the manner she spoke to me in. She said ‘ok’!
I have never ever been spoken too so rudely ever! What a horrible horrible woman.

We are sorry it was raining on the day you had your riding lesson booked.
We thought your reaction was quite interesting noting you hold our Head Instructor in such high regard that, when challenged about your extremely short notice cancellation, you threaten her livelihood by trying to damage the business for which she has worked for the past 20 years.
It's quite straightforward we, like all other Riding Schools, operate a 24 hour cancellation policy and will not ( and cannot) accept further bookings from individuals who do not abide by it.
We have wonderful, wonderful customers here - all of whom recognise that the high animal welfare standards we maintain here would be jeopardised if we failed to apply it.
It's a 3 way mutual respect kind of thing....... between us and our customers of course but also , at its heart, a respect for the beautiful animals we are privileged to keep here.
Those (very few ) that don't recognise the moral obligation incumbent upon them, above and beyond a simple exchange of cash, pretty quickly move on we find.

I loved my lessons and hack at Willington. Chris is an excellent instructor and my riding improved a lot over the course of my three days. Rosie was a superb horse; so kind and eager to please. This is a very well run yard with excellent staff and horses. The location is also stunning and there is some beautiful hacking to be explored. I would recommend it and hope to return soon.

This was our second time to the Riding School and was booked as part of a holiday package.
We were delighted to return and were welcomed as if we had never been away.
We were also pleased to see Bertie again!
Our instructor, Christine, was first class and very patient as we got used to being back in the saddle after the long break . She has a wealth of experience and provided a tailored plan using a mix of different horses to give us the maximum out of our short time there.
We also had time for a hack in the local area, soaking up the views and sunshine.
The yard was busy due to half term and was very well run. Sandra, the owner, and all the staff were friendly and happy to help.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will certainly return.

Hi Praksha! The riding stables are open Tuesday to Sunday. Tuesday to Thursday they are open until 9pm and Friday to Sunday they are open until around four.
If it’s a holiday you’re looking for, then Equestrian Escapes offer packages year round- look for their Cheshire riding holiday options.
