A group of us stayed at Church Farm in Fritchley & visited the local pub, the Red Lion. We found the landlord and locals extremely welcoming and were a mine of valuable tourist information. Good selection of well kept beers. No food is served as this is a “proper pub”!

Went to another pub which wasn’t accepting more customers for food, they missed out as we went to the red lion which had a very nice selection of beer and food with very decent portions.

We recently visited the Red Lion mid-morning on Christmas day and were surprised to find it packed. The atmosphere was brilliant and the extremely friendly Landlords (owners) were offering a free first round to celebrate. It was like one big happy family. The most striking thing for us was that this must be one of very few genuine English pubs still in existence. I don't know how they did it but despite the large number of people the owners still managed to provide high speed service with a smile and everyone had somewhere to sit. Actually everyone in the pub seemed very friendly. Well done the Red Lion in Fritchley.

Proper old style traditional pub. At least one real ale always on, frequently from local breweries. Check out their website for details.

Not a very posh pub but has a great atmosphere and fab hospitality the landlord is very friendly and the regulars are too, definitely worth a visit.
Beer is fab as well dogs are welcome and it's great in the summer months having a beer in the garden with the dogs after a pleasant walk.

Great village pub, friendly locals ,great staff ,great beer,and of course mine host Terry.also some great local bands play there that we have seen on occasions.
