Another tour has been started by two ladies. It looks fabulous Yambangku Stratford Cultural Adventures. Can book through Lounging Emu and Facebook. Looks awesome but we only found it the day before we were leaving.

We went for a day trip with Tom and Wayne. We were told of this brilliant experience as a must do when out west and we really enjoyed it. Toms knowledge of the bush, the out back pioneers and the aboriginal sights is amazing. He is a true bushman who is passionate about his local area and our pioneers. The trip included a visit to Aramac and Jericho, tales of Captain Starlight/Matt Buchanan and other pioneers and droving tales. He tooks us on private land and showed us the jump ups, ochre, poetry,indigenous sandstone carvings and ochre paintings. We wish him well and anyone wanting to do this tour should do so before he retires.

Picked up from our accommodation, hosted the whole day by Tom and driver Wayne, with a delicious lunch and smoko provided by Vicky, and the billy tea courtesy of Wayne. The history of the region, the El Dorado of Australia, Aramac, tales of Captain Starlight, bush knowledge, droving tales, Grays Rock, wagon wheel tracks preserved in the original road, jump ups, ochre, poetry, and outstanding indigenous sandstone carvings and ochre paintings, that won't be seen again by once Tom retires, I highly recommend this day tour which is for small groups on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Brilliant and unforgettable outback tour with Tom from a Artesian Country Tours. Tom takes you on a journey of places in the bush, Australian history, his wide knowledge of the area and stories. A true Australian bushman and character; a must to do in Barcaldine. Best tour I've ever done. Thank you Tom.

Tom is one of Australia's true legends! This tour takes you to places only Tom can access. His knowledge plus personality alone make this day outstanding! Ample food for smoko, lunch and afternoon tea. (Great fruitcake Vicki).

Tom Lockie is a legend of the Queensland Outback and his full day tour out of Barcaldine is a must see for anyone interested in Australiana and Aboriginal Rock Art (see photos).
Tom has been there and done that and his informative tour misses nothing.
At the end of the day you realise that you have just witnessed sights that sadly very few people have seen.
Tom is getting on in years and can't go on forever so see it now if you can.

This tour is a beauty. Tom will teach you more about the area in 1 day than you could read about in 1 year. His tour is all day from 7.30 am to 6.00 pm and worth every cent. There are carvings and paintings still being studied and found from over 80 million years ago.

Thanks Tom for a great day out. Without you and your extensive knowledge of the history of the region, and your sole access to the places we went, the day wouldn't have been so enjoyable. Thanks also to your wife for providing the food for the day. Super. If you don't do this tour when in Barcy, then you haven't seen the Barcy area.

Tom Lockie runs this full day tour out of Barcaldine to Aramic and to the hills around that area. What he does not know of the area, it's colourful past residents, it's history, and it's geography is not worth knowing. We were taken to places that very few outsiders get to see. Ancient aboriginal carvings and paintings, being studied by scientists the world over, tracks from the old horse and carriage days, and historic points of interest- a remarkable trip, a full days outing, and a full commentary from Tom, including a few yarns thrown for good measure and some great bush poetry as well. A great character. And we were also provided with morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea as well. If travelling through Barcaldine, it is certainly worth the extra day there just to do Tom's tour.
