There are thousands of 'lookouts' around the world that are very disappointing. Not this one! It gives a great view over the city and provides interesting historical information.

Visitors confuse Bucklands with the impressive Tower Hill Lookout. Latter not on Tripadvisor? Great views across the town.
Drive or walk to top. Local legend has it that an Aboriginal boy named Jupiter first discovered gold at the foot of Towers Hill in December 1871. Today you can find a monument which depicts the location of the first gold sighting at the base of the hill. From there follow the road and uncover the stories of the Hill from the interesting and informative storyboards along the way which feature "Jupiter's Luck," "The Seismograph Station," and "Clark's Gold Mine." Discover 30 different World War II bunkers, one of which is a restored bunker located approximately half way up the Hill. Another track at the summit leads off to the ruins of the Pyrites Works.
There is also an amphitheater which has a video after dark.

We called up there to enjoy the view and have afternoon tea . We were not disappointed, a great place for a view and a picnic.

Its not a bad place, but its a pretty standard lookout non-the-less. While we were there we seen a big brown snake too..

Whoever maintains this picnic and viewpoint area, takes a lot of pride in their work. Peaceful place to sit and read, bring your lunch, or just take in the great views over the city and surrounding district.
