Great market. Equivalent in size to say Yandina market or Howard market for those in the south. Great people, great atmosphere. Yungaburra is like Maleny but in the Cairns hinterland. I consider it much nicer to visit than Mareeba, Atherton & Malanda & I have been visiting the area for 5+yrs. Wonderful place to visit for a weekend, but especially when markets are on. See my review for Accom and the Pub

Massive market with lots of stalls and lots of people in attendance. We were a little wary of close proximity and COVID safety ourselves. Parking in town is scarce and not so easy to find when the market is on.

Great markets with a decent variety of stalls plus some buskers and the like, both young and old, singing and playing music to lift the vibe.
Parking was a bit of an issue because of the popularity of these markets which are run on the 4th Saturday morning of every month, except in December when it's held on the 3rd Sunday of the month.
They had the usual types of stalls, including local woodworkers, coffee stalls, some fresh produce, as well as some Christian crusaders for good measure!
I would have liked to see some more food stalls or food vans, but all in all I was glad I went and would happily visit again. Yungaburra is a reasonable sized little town and would be a decent base for exploring the region. If you have a moment after visiting the markets, try the walk along the western bank of Peterson Creek which you can access under the bridge next to the platypus viewing platform (where naturally I didn't see any of these elusive mammals!)

Yungaburra markets were packed with stalls, selling a huge variety of beautiful products, mostly locally made or produced and no plastic rubbish!! A few food and coffee vans as well. Very busy and popular spot- get there early! Lots of Christmas products made specially for the market this month also

As a visitor to these markets I left feeling very frustrated, why oh why do people need to take their dogs with them elderly people tripping over dogs, dog poo around the eatery s we won’t be back unless we hear dogs have been banned from the area

These markets are held from 7.30 till 12.30 on the fourth Saturday of each month. We were lucky that a weekend visit to the tablelands coincided with them.
Well worth a look if you can - a great variety of stalls from fresh produce and home made jams chutneys as well as food stalls; home made clothes and the list goes on.
Bring your hat and lots of water as it was very hot.

Visited this market today as it is held on the fourth Saturday of the month.

It is held in the centre of the town and has dozens of stalls. They sell a huge range of items including locally grown food, prepared food to eat, drinks, a large range of crafts, plants, etc.

It was very busy when we went but they were mostly locals so could be different in high season? Parking was easy as there are lots of parking places plus many verges to park on.

A pleasant way to spend a morning.

We travelled from Cairns to get there in time for the Saturday Market and soon realised that there were a few tourists but mostly locals stocking up with produce for the week. Mostly food and produce with a few odds and sods as well. Filled the rental with some goodies to take back to Cairns to our apartment and they were all good quality goods, all fresh. Definitely a must visit if you are heading that way for a drive. The direct route from Cairns heading south is a winding road that may not suit some but its a pretty drive too.

These markets are held on the 4th Saturday of each month. We liked the local content and community atmosphere. We snapped up some interesting purchases: organic beeswax food wraps which will help us reduce our use of plastics, a Wondaree wasabi macadamia nuts grown / produced in Atherton - super tasty and homemade cookies to have with our coffee. It was a good stop on our way to explore other local sites on the Tablelands.

Wow. I felt like I had stepped back into the American Mid West. The sleepy town with wide lanes. So very different to what I unexpected.
An antique shop that was reminiscent of books of my youth.
A few cafes , however they all seemed to close at 3pm and we had just arrived. But there was a small supermarket.
A beautiful drive to the Flatlands and calm walk around the town. Even my 15 year old enjoyed the stillness of the place.
