We had an amazing day with Stephen around McLaren Vale. Stephen is super personable and very knowledgeable regarding the region and wine making. We visited a range of rather bespoke wineries all chosen by Stephen and there were no disappointments. Nothing is rushed, everything is at your own pace and Stephen is genuinely at you service. Highly recommend and will definitely be back for a Barossa tour next time.

Stephen is a fantastic, passionate guide with heaps of knowledge about both the wine and the regions he covers as well as pleasant chat. Provides a very personal and enjoyable service, stopping off at a couple of wineries I had suggested as well as his personal favourites and suggestions (which I ended up enjoying more!). You can go along at your own pace to enjoy the wonderful wine without worrying about anyone else. The only regret I have is not having the time to also tour Mclaren Vale with Stephen. Cannot recommend Hand Picked Wine Tours enough and thanks Stephen for a brilliant day.

If you are going to go on a wine tour, what you really want if you are serious about wine and also want to really enjoy your day, then look no further than taking a trip with Stephen of Hand Picked Wine Tours. He talks to you to understand your approach to wine (if you are an enthusiast) or even if you weren’t, you would be in excellent hands. We had a fantastic day with Stephen, seeing (at our request) the smaller family owned and run cellar doors. Stephen picks you up in his car and having understood the style of wines my wife and I enjoy, he took us on a fabulous tour of McLaren Vale. The day was interspersed with a wealth of local knowledge about the geography, geology, history and of course the wines of the area.
Each cellar door offered a different experience, the hosts were all super friendly and very helpful. We stopped for a wonderful lunch and at no point did we ever feel hurried. The day was more like a day out with a friend with whom you can have good conversation and know that at each destination, there will be something there for you.
When I return to Adelaide, I will absolutely go on another tour with Stephen. I have been on many wine tours, but this one stands out and will remain as the best I have done.
If you are going to to do a cellar door day, look no further than Hand Picked and Stephen.
Each cellar door offered a different experience, the hosts were all super friendly and very helpful. We stopped for a wonderful lunch and at no point did we ever feel hurried. We had an excellent experience with Stephen for three days touring the Barossa, McLaren Vale and Adelaide Hills! We were impressed from start to finish with the service! The coordination and communications before and during our tour were great and we really enjoyed getting to know Stephen and learning about the wine he is so passionate about!
From the beginning we knew that we wanted more than to just taste wine. We wanted the education, the history and a more intimate experience which can’t be had in larger bus tours. Stephen blew away our expectations! The private barrel tasting was a real treat and we will never forget our time in Adelaide!
Highly recommend to anyone wanting a friendly, educational and custom wine tasting tour!

We picked up a leaflet from the Australian Wine Centre in Adelaide and it was just what we were looking for in a wine tour; a private tour and picking the wineries we want to go to rather than being part of a pre-set tour with 20 other people.
I gave Stephen a list of wineries in the McLaren Vale and he planned our route, with a stop for lunch at The Currant Shed. On the day, We has time to stop at a couple extra wineries which was great.
If you’re looking for a super relaxed day with no one else to worry about, no one to distract you, then this is the tour. Stephen will also go to Barossa and Adelaide Hills; we’ve booked a second tour to the Adelaide Hills. Stephen makes the day with his knowledge of the wineries and wine in general and his friendliness, which is second to none. Great day, highly recommended. Thank you Stephen .🍷👍

I booked this wine tour for two couples. I outlined where we wanted to go and Stephen planned the day out for us. Stephen also recommended a place for lunch - Beach Road. The wine tour was great, Stephen had good knowledge and was also incredibly flexible to whatever we wanted to do as we did change the plans, but it was no problem at all.
Stephen picked us up from our accommodation in Moana and dropped us off, even stopping at the supermarket for us on the way home. We did the tour on a Friday which I think made it more enjoyable as well as less crowds. Having said this Stephen worked out the best time to go to the popular wineries so to avoid the crowds where possible.
Stephen took lots of pictures which was fantastic and he sent them to us, and he was also fine to take photos on our phones/camera as well.
The lunch at Beach Road was great - we had pizza and we all loved it.
It was a wonderful day for us, we had an amazing time and had some great laughs. The four of us raved about it all weekend.

We had a private wine tour booked with Hand Picked on Saturday 13th July and it was amazing from start to finish. Stephen picked us up from Adelaide Airport and drove us down to McLaren Vale, we had already booked a lunch based on some suggestions but the rest of our day was planned based on the conversation we had on the drive.
Stephen was an absolutely brilliant tour guide and left us to our own devices when needed and was always on hand for a chat or some fun facts!
I cannot recommend the day enough!

What an excellent day! I have been on several wine tours and I have never been on one where every vineyard was amazing. I took a full day solo tour of the McLaren Vale with Stephen and after telling him my preferences we conducted a day that was truly delightful. We visited several vineyards, each of which was quite unique in their own way and Stephen really catered to places which had a variety of excellent wines. In
