We took a group of wine-loving friends from interstate for a tasting and platters for lunch. Beyond excellent. Kishan has a unique approach to the tasting experience. Rather than tell you ‘what’ to taste, he teaches you ‘how’ to taste and encourages you to make your own decisions.
The platters are excellent value - loaded with wonderful local products.
And their wines are jolly good as well!

If your looking for an amazing relaxed afternoon with delicious wines then you really need to spend some time at this Winery 😘🍷. Firstly Thankyou to Kishan for such a fabulous and Relaxed wine tasting ( we felt like we were in someone’s home sitting by the fire 🔥) Lovely person 👍 and the platter was divine and huge. If you like sparkling wine you need to try the Temperanillo/ Rose and my favourite the Temperanillo .. 🍷. perfect all round

My husband and I wanted a new experience to celebrate our Anniversary and came upon Hastwell & Lightfoot Cellar Door, a family owned and run boutique winery in Foggo Road, McLaren Vale.
Despite not booking ahead, we received a warm and friendly greeting from the lovely Jemirah and were seated in the cosy room near the fire. We ordered a wonderful platter and bottle of Tempranillo and settled in for the afternoon.
It was Kishan who then spoilt us with his indepth knowledge and wine tasting offerings whilst explaining the history of his winery and surrounding region. He was extremely generous with his time, as was Jemirah, and together they made our experience one to remember.
We would seriously consider booking their new functions venue for our next special event and hope to return many times for that relaxing wine tasting experience which we highly recommend to all.

It’s great to discover small boutique wineries that are new to us. We had a lovely afternoon wine tasting and enjoying a substantial platter. Our hosts were very knowledgeable and entertaining. Definitely one to revisit.

Kishan, the owner is a wonderful host. So much knowledge about his wines and those of other wineries. Tasted things we wouldn’t normally drink, but enjoyed the experience when guided through it. Some traditional wines but some new and innovative wines which are just delicious.
The platter was perfect and generous.
So nice to be supporting a small batch producer and a small family business.
We will be back. Cheers!

Absolutely beautiful experience!! This winery is stunning, intimate, and the staff are so knowledgeable, but personable, friendly and approachable too. They stepped us through a beautiful tasting, and their wines are stunning. I'm not normally a white wine drinker, but their Fiano is divine! The platter we had was amazing and full of local produce.

We used our SA Tourism voucher and spent the afternoin at this winery. Was a great experience. Kishan was the perfect host. Would highy recommend this experience to anyone looking for a wine flight and platter. Could not fault anything. We will be back.

Thanks Kishan and team for a lovely afternoon. We spent nearly 3 hours here over a beautiful platter of meats and cheeses and a wine tasting flight. The standout for us was the Red Fury Tempranillo Grenache. Winter is a fine time to visit. Take your time here, it’s no ordinary cellar door experience.

Was barely aware of Hastwell and
Lightfoot before dropping in on a whim. Bravo! Sensational winery. Will be back again for sure. Couldn’t recommend any higher. Friendly atmosphere, rare wines, knowledgeable staff, good selection.

We spent a super afternoon at this family owned & operated cellar door. Mark & Kishan were friendly & very knowledgable, not only about their wines, but also about the local area. We enjoyed a tasty platter with a bottle of Vermentino, sitting on the verandah, taking in the views. Their Tempranillo & Fiano wines didn't disappoint either - we left with a mixed dozen! Highly recommended experience!

Thanks for your review super to hear you enjoyed your time with us. Nothing better than sharing a platter with a wine on the deck unless it is a cold winter's day and you have the platter and wine on one of our Chesterfield lounges in from of out warm fire! Look forward to seeing you again soon
