A unique and delightful shopping experience. There is a large variety of items from home goods, food items, Christmas decor, clothing, jewelry even musical instruments, in all price ranges, from around the globe at this fair trade store.

This shop is connected with the Mennonite Church. They offer unique and often handmade items from struggling countries. You will find jewelry, wall hangings, cards, coffee, and much more. I have purchased Christmas ornaments and hand carved African animals. It is a really fun place to browse.

I enjoy visiting Ten Thousand Villages and stop frequently to see new items. The store volunteers have stories about the artisans in 35 different countries and are willing to help find a special gift for the special people on my gift giving list. I appreciate being able to purchase gifts that will delight the receiver and help the artisan who made the gift.

Visited the Ten Thousand Villages store in Bluffton for the first time in years and was disappointed. At least it was in better shape than the Et Cetera shop next door. Again, I support the concept of supporting the artists directly but there are limits to what can be done. I don't need a three foot giraffe in my house no matter how it was brought to this country. Some other designs and crafts seem as strange to me as a Peyton Manning bobblehead or a Aaron Rogers cheesehead would be to an African tribesman. Manager completely ignored us the entire time we were in the store although we were the only ones there which also didn't contribute to a purchasing decision no matter how much global good it would have done. Ever since the first of these stores opened, it seemed to me (as a Mennonite) that Mennonites were trying to capture a more upscale niche but at the same time being apologetic about appearing too worldly- a Pier One Imports for the people called the Quiet in the Land.

Ten Thousand Villages is a fair-trade store offering beautiful jewelry, household decorations and items, musical instruments, cards and stationary and many more items that would make wonderful presents for that someone very special. All the merchandise comes from artists and companies in developing countries. The artists receive fair trade prices for their works of art which allows them to buy houses, pay for their childrens' education and health services. Because of this many say that by purchasing a present at this store you also are assured that you're giving a gift to the artist and their family.

A surprising assortment of treasures in a small-town storefront. I especially liked the very creative greeting cards, fabric-woven baskets and wall art made from bicycle chains. If you want the feel of a bazaar in a an exotic locale without the crowds or clutter, this is the right place for you.

Amazing little shop on Main Street in downtown Bluffton. Offering a variety of crafts, jewelry, and gifts from around the world. All purchases give back to the artists and their countries! What a great way to give a gift that makes a difference in many ways. Colorful, creative and one-of-a-kind things. Great selection, with very friendly service in the store.

I am always amazed at the unique gifts found at Ten Thousand Villages. The items range from jewelry and scarves to candy and dishes and clothing. There is certainly something there for everyone and the sales help are wonderful. Remember, the items are made by others in under-priviledged countries and the help are mostly volunteers. The money is given to the artisians to help support their families. Wonderful store!
