Unfortunately it has burned down. Another lost treasure in Cambridge, Ohio. It had many unique and fun items to take you down memory lane.

I finally selected a day to see this museum as it is only about eight miles from my home. Well, to my surprise, it was gone and nothing left but a lot of rubble and a chain link fence all around it.

We knew the museum was destroyed but found many of the items that had previously been moved to the window of the Country Bits store, 700 Wheeling Ave., Cambridge, Ohio

The museum was crowded with momentoes, very interesting, but we had to take our time to look at everything. A kids bedroom was set up with twin beds and the Hopalong Cassidy theme; bedspreads, wall hangings, figurines and such on the other furniture. There was comic books, lunch boxes, toys, so nostalgic!! I lived in Cambridge, so I visited the museum a few times, each time seeing something I had not noticed before. There was also a Hopalong vehicle in the parking lot. Sadly, it was just last week that the museum was destroyed by fire. The town lost a jewel of something for visitors to visit. I am writing this revue for those of you who might be planning a trip to the museum and had not heard that the museum was gone. So sad

The place that had the museum burnt down on 9-1-16..
They said that some of the stuff was saved...I hope they can reopen I never knew it was there and love to see it..

We went to Cambridge for different things but Museum was one of the reasons. We visited and thought it was closed, but we went in and we were glad we did. Gentlemen was very helpful with info about items for sale. Many many past memories of child
hood games and playing came to mind. The building was an old hospital many years ago. Unfortunately the building has many issues and problems to say the least. The museum itself was presented nicely and really was a lot to take in. We did buy some items.

Even though this attraction was not open during the off season, we were told it is slated to reopen this spring by the visitors' center. The vistors' center is a great stop for free brochures and information.

Lots of memorabilia in this very old building that was a hospital at one time. ....
....gentleman who worked there was friendly. ..not a place to go out of your way for, but if you are walking around this quaint town, stop in if you are a fan of Hoppy.

Sadly it was in the newspaper that it will be closing soon. A nice place to visit. Everything is currently on sale.
