The autos are the best, but this museum is also great for anyone who wants to dig into Cleveland history. I saw some nostalgic displays of newspaper clippings from my youth. It was great fun.

This museum has a permanent display of dozens of historic and classic cars. A beautifully restored working carrousel from Euclid Park charms adults and entertains the kids. The other side of the museum is a grand old mansion converted into a display for antique fashion and also local artists. Just a 2 minute walk from the Natural History Museum so a great way to break things up or to plan a whole morning/afternoon.

Others have noted the fine auto and local history exhibitions, but the true hidden gem of the Western Reserve Historical Society's Museum is its fabulous fashion collection. Not only is the fashion collection impressive, but recent special exhibitions have been very interesting, well researched and contextualized, intelligently curated, and beautifully displayed! The fashion exhibitions alone are worth the price of admission.

Great place if you love historic cars. It is a very large display with great variety through the years. And they have a carousel which is lovely.

This place is a little off of beaten path and I have never found it to be crazy busy like The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame can be. Well worth the visit! My favorite part was being the beautiful original neon of Chief Wahoo that stood outside the original Cleveland Municipal Stadium!

Senior rate was $10. Parking was $8.00. Lots of vintage cars, a working carousel (ride for free) a mansion with tours, history and videos of Cleveland. It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon and there were probably ten people in the museum. We enjoyed it.

The car collection is superb, but I loved the cool displays of local history. Lots of great photos and journalism telling stories of the past. Great collection.

Surprisingly worthwhile attraction to see in Cleveland. When you get there the first thing you see from outside is the Euclid Beach Carousel restored and in a glass dome that you get to ride with the admission to the historical society. This is a must do! Then whether you are a car buff or not the whole bottom floor of the building is cars and more cars from all decades. We also enjoyed then the different dresses and clothing building that they have showing what people have worn over the years.

If you want to learn about the local car & aircraft industries, as well as experience local history... this is the place. As well, the docents are very knowledgeable, and fun to engage. This is a must see if you are visiting Cleveland!

My wife , daughter and myself recently spent an enjoyable morning + at the Western Reserve Historical Society. It was a comprehensive trip through Cleveland's history. You'll enter into an impressive lobby area with a variety of exhibits about Cleveland's past beginning with a copy of the first map of the city.
You'll continue on to two floors of fascinating cars as well as some airplanes. One of the cars in the collection is from 1897 and the oldest enclosed car in the world. There is a video of how these cars came to Cleveland. A beautiful carousel waits nearby and 2 tickets to ride are included in the admission price.
There are many opportunities for children to get involved in what is presented.
We opted for the free tour of one of the last mansions of Cleveland's Millionaires' Row. Our guide was excellent and had many insights in to the world of Cleveland's rich and famous. It is also possible to tour the mansion on your own and that might be a better option if you're traveling with children.

A quick tour if the museum isn’t busy could be completed in an hour - it just depends on how interested you are in old cars, old planes, and historic residences. The carousel is not a long ride.
