The outside looks like many other government buildings, but the inside is quite spectacular. The old vault is amazing.

I attended a group tour arranged through a local community college. We had an extremely knowledgeable guide and were able to see the beautiful lobby area of the original Federal Reserve Building as well as see (and go into) the old vault and watch some of the current operations through a glass paneled area. There is also the museum, which can be visited during any open hours (check their website), but I highly recommend going on a tour where you can ask all of the questions you want!

Beautiful building from inside and outside. Free admission. The staff is very friendly; the exposition includes videos, a money tree, portraits, pictures, even a sample of the wall with the hole for the rifle. You can train yourself to recognize fake banknotes (I was failing with $20). The second floor has a big room with the kids' activity.

Great learning experience designed for kids but easy to enjoy for kids at heart. I visited the museum on a solo trip. I had a great time learning more about the Fed and money. While the museum Is geared toward kids, I thoroughly enjoyed speaking with the knowledgeable staff and getting my face printed on a (novelty) million dollar bill.
I recommend the museum to anyone especially those looking for a budget friendly activity. The visit is free and I even got to take home a small souvenir bag of shredded money!
Don’t forget to bring ID because you will need to go through a metal detector and check-in at the entrance.

There is a free tour of the Reserve with a museum as well. It was very entertaining and informative. There is even a money tree! At the end of the tour they even give out samples of (shredded) money. This was a great find!

The bank has great architecture, and the little money museum was a good few hours. Visitors can get a free baggie containing shredded money.

The Money Museum is housed in the beautiful Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland. At first a guide gives background information about the Federal Reserve and the history of this building. Then you proceed to a self-guided tour which is pleasant and informative. There are a number of activities geared toward children.

This Reserve Bank was a pleasant surprise. We did not know what to expect, and it exceeded our expectations. The staff was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The museum was interesting and interactive. The money tree was fun. Kids got to learn how to identify counterfeit money. We even got to print money with our faces on it. Our 6 and 9 year olds loved it. We spent just under 1 1/2 hours. We didn’t have enough in our family to do the private tour, so would be curious to return and see that. Even this mom learned things about money that surprised me.

Boy, oh, boy. If they had museums like this when we were kids, we might have learned a lot more!!! The staff (volunteers?) who guided us before, during and after we roamed around were all great. Thank you, ladies!!
There are interesting things to read, see and do here. It’s a lot of interactive activities, and videos. I told the ladies when I left that I am not as smart as I thought I was when it came to the Federal Reserve, banking, interest rates, and the like. But, it was fun to be a big kid and learn like little kids can.
And, there was indeed a money tree!! They have lots of materials to take at the end, both in English and in Spanish. Since I am trying to brush up on my Spanish, I asked if I could take one of each and they were happy to let me do so.

The beauty of the building is worth the trip inside. It is geared toward kids, but worth the visit for all ages. The museum is interactive and full of interesting information. Kids leave with a bag full of shredded money. Best of all, it’s free!
