If you want to stand by the bar and have the bartenders ignore you, then this is the place to go. We had a group of 12, and we stood waited for 10 min, before a rude bartender came over. Part of our group gave up and went to the next bar. As one patron put it, " It's like the bartenders hate us here."

We stopped at Wonder Bar before a Billy Joel concert on Tuesday, April 1. The bar was understandably packed due to the concert. There were 2 bartenders and one person at the cook station. When we could finally communicate with someone we were told that we could not get food in less than 45 minutes and probably an hour or more. I asked why were they so understaffed, Rob said that they are a bar not a restaurant and that's the way it is when everyone wants to pack in at one time. I'm thinking, this was pre-concert and that's the way I would expect it to be, isn't it? He became rude and pointed out that I didn't have to stay there. So, their lack of preparation for a sold out concert crowd and rude dismissive attitude of "this is the way it is" doesn't leave a visitor with a good feeling about Wonder Bar in the middle of one of the biggest entertainment districts in Cleveland. The manager, Colleen, explained that this was their ENTIRE staff. She was at least very nice about it.

Having sat at more than a few bars I can tell you bars live and die with the bartender. This one didn't make it. More interested in her phone, the other staff. My bill came to 15 and any decent Tender would have been able to get that 5 bucks from the twenty I laid down. Left a couple of bucks and that was likely too much. First, know your bar and that means all of it including the TV, the types of beer on tap, the scotches, the speed of your patrons drinking etc. and engage people sitting by themselves until they give you clues they might not want to talk. The staff even pulled in the ad board outside side while the Heat game was emptying out. That was my signal to leave. Too many choices in the area to try this one again.
