Such a quaint restored theater in the heart of Gordon Square arts district. I can never remember if it was a theater in the 20s or 30s but the main floor is amazing. The old balcony has become two small theaters that are nor handicapped accessible. The theater shows first run movies, artsy movies, and even oldies once a month at happy hour on Wed evening. Great food and fun. Save your ticket stub and go next door to play a little pin ball at Super electric

If you don't remember movies before the multiplex, pay a visit to the past. Large room, soaring ceilings, drapes along the walls. Leg room! If you stretch out, you won't have to say excuse me to the people sitting in front. They use digital projectors and the sound system also sounds great.

So don't expect comfy seats, but DO expect a wonderful old theater that offers wine and beer for you to have during the shows, while you can see old time movies or current releases. We go tot he film festivals here, too and that is always fun.

Saw the 2019 Oscar-nominated animated shorts; the films were very entertaining, and the venue was very comfortable. We did not buy anything at the concession stand, but I noticed that cocktails are offered, as well as the standard fare. Parking is always a challenge in this busy neighborhood, but it can be found with persistence.

The location and venue are great! Many eclectic style restaurants nearby. The theater is great--great location.

I loved the experience of sitting in the old seat with a straight back and small cup-holder. The screen on which I saw "Bohemian Rhapsody" was large, and the rows of seats must have accommodated 50 people (by 50 rows.) I believe the screening was in the main theater, for the high ceiling was impressive. The matinee is $7.00 before 5pm but not too conveniently located on the #26 bus along Detroit (at W 65.) A taxi from downtown will run about $15.00. (There's a good leather works on Detroit around the corner, btw.) (For food, I write a cautionary review about XYZ Tavern, located nearby.)

Opened in 1920 and re-opened in 2009, I heard great stuff about the choice more authorial than commercial but I was disappointed by the poor aspect of the room and from the little measure of the screen

What an experience I had when visiting this old place. It took me back to the 70's when Mom would bring me here for Saturday discount shows. It is refreshing to know that this great place is still inoperation, although I have not been here in quite sometime the only memory I have is a good one. I have heard that the neighborhood is not the safest and I certainly hope that improves as time moves ahead. I think it will as more people have a sense of protecting where they live as well as all around them. This place is really an awesome place to check out and worth a look just to stop and click some pictures. If a billionaire left 1,000 bucks in Cleveland for people to find, this is one of the places they'd drop the loot.

Ok, went here when I heard they were showing one night only around the world David Gilmore movie live from Pompeii. You can tell this is a classic theater and they are still working to restore it. These places need to be kept to remind us of the past. The sound was very good and up to date. The seats are what they used during that era and you cant expect the theater seating of today. They had Bottles of Great lakes that they poor into a cup for you that you can enjoy while watching the show. Not quite as nice as playhouse square theaters but nice none the less.
