We visited the Casella winery on a Saturday evening in late June with another couple. There were only a handful of other guests, but the service was poor. Our server brought glasses of wine for our two friends and a pair of wine samples for us, and also took our order for four snack plates. Much time went by while our server conversed with the owner in the back of the room and neglected to return to our table to take our wine order or bring any of the four snack plates we ordered. After about 20 minutes I went to the back of the room and told a young lady (who, it turns out, was working her first day at the winery) about our problem. She was able to motivate our original server to attend to our needs, but it seemed earlier like the more senior employee and the owner were having a good time but paying little to no attention to their customers. This was contrary to our experiences at many other small wineries where the owners and/or hosts are very attentive and accommodating. And while we and our friends are not wine experts, we would rate the several Casella wines we have tasted during a previous visit and this recent visit as very average when compared to the wines we have tasted at many other Ohio wineries.

Try their oldest Cabernet- it was great. Very cute tasting room. Large covered deck with nice view of valley. It is open later than some of the other wineries, which is nice. Would return.

We have seen the sign for the last few years and had the time to stop recently. We went during the week and we're the only guest. Owner was very friendly, but we felt rusted thru our wine tasting and did not get to select the variety we wanted past the first glass. Wine is on the higher end for the area. The My merlot and white merlot were unique.
There is a new porch outside with a good view. I would suggest you go on weekends or Fri when there is more activity offered if you are looking for atmosphere.

In an old one room schoolhouse this winery isn't bad. Good dry red wines but on the costly side. Around 20 to 25 dollars a bottle. We don't come here often because of the prices but the wine is good. When there is a band playing it is hard to carry on a conversation due to small area. Not much on the way of outdoor seating either.
