Beautiful but better signage needed

2021年4月

The setting is absolutely beautiful with some nice views of the surrounding area. We walked on the Vondergreen Trail and found it not too difficult.
The only drawback is that signage is somewhat unclear. We had a hard time finding trailheads. Once on the trails, however, the markings are quite clear.
Good places to picnic or just chill out.

great state park in the area

I've been here many times I live about 1/2 hour away and go here for all kind of great events here, i would say stop and check it out for a good time

Beaver Creek SP Outdoor Adventure

Great little park with some nice attractions such as a playground, the Grist Mill, some horse trails. This is a fun place for fishing, family-friendly hiking trails and a small creek with Class I-II rapids (on a high flow day). Ample parking.

beautiful trails, nature

trails go through some awesome areas, creek and valley are stunning scenery. mills/buildings have grafitti, and are a little run down. but still cool to see locks and how goods were transported before trains and cars

Beautiful colors and area

We took a little break from visiting family to explore Beaver Creek State Park and do a little hiking. Enjoyed hiking with the family and taking some nice pics as well. There is also a nice playground, places for horse trail rides, picnicking and some primitive camping.

This is a lovely park to visit, especially for fall foliage. Plenty of parking places. Easy walking. Saw some folks fishing.

Free! So many Cicada Bugs right now!

When we arrived there was just a hum in the air, we asked the lady running the store at the Pioneer Village what it was, Cicada Bugs. She said this is the worst it has been in years! They were everywhere, flying, landing on us. Stuck to our cars, on the walkways yet this is super neat because at home we barely ever see them. We hear the bugs and see there shells that they hatch from but that's about it. We walked around the Pioneer Village enjoying our time reading all the signs. The park had tons of cars but we barely saw any people. We did not hike any trails but did stop at the Educational Centre on our way out. The staff was super friendly, even asked if we wanted to hold a snake-pass but thanks. We learned about the Cicada Bugs and this cycle only happens every 17 years so it was pretty neat! They have tons of fun things for children, a bird viewing window and lots of taxidermy animals to check out.

Wonderful Place for Family

Spent an afternoon with family in the park, including kayaking on the creek, and picnicking at one of the campsites. The park is wonderful, easy to get to with many amenities. Kayaking may be difficult in low water for those of us who have a little more drag than others.
Be sure to allow time to visit the historic gristmill, covered bridge and original canal locks.

We were the only ones camping

I'm glad a read all the reviews and web site. We camped at the campground and went for a hike on the first day.... Good thing because it rained the rest of the time we were there. Small campground with no water or sewer hook up... There was a dump station across the street, but no water there either. I am not complaining because I read this was the case before we left, so we filled up at home and our tank lasted us.
Can't wait to go again, just hope it is dryer...

Free, Fun, Fantastic!

We picnicked at Beaver Creek State Park on Memorial Day and the 4th of July. Both days were very well spent. While we took advantage of the creek, the scenic view, a picnic area, and the swing sets, there are so many other things to do at this state park.

There are hiking trails and bicycle paths. You can fish or float down Beaver Creek in a raft or kayak. Camping spots are available, as well as horseback riding. Learn about the mill and lock remains at the park and visit the wildlife museum.

There are also many weekend events at Beaver Creek State Park, so check them out. Or just take a good book and sit anywhere in this beautiful park!
