My Family bike the trail often and am never disrupted or worried about suspicious people. mostly see freindly faces and motived people out enjoying nature.

The Black River Reservation is a hidden gem for anyone looking to spend time outside. The trails are paved for anyone that wants to walk, jog or ride their bikes or skates. As you stroll along the 5 miles of trails you will see a lot of wildlife such as squirrels, deer, turtles, birds of all kind and insects. You will be crossing the Black River a few times and you can even kayak the Black River. Best of all it is free.

It's very green here and peaceful. The trail is all paved unless you explore to one of the paths off to the sides. There is also a waterfall trail, it's a loop and it is not paved, which is nice. I recommend checking it out.

This park is very scenic and is a great walking trail as it is all asphalt. It has
several long bridges that cross the river and have great views of the surrounding
area and river.

We were staying at Days inn and front desk told us about this reservation. Great trail. We visited cascade falls all the way. nicely developed, clean and fun!

We did not cover the entire length of the trail as we started late in the afternoon after a function in the city. Parked in lot at Cascades Park in Elyria and then followed paved, shaded, and wooded path along the the Black River into the reservation. We only met two other people on our whole walk. We enjoyed the scenery although warning signs about sewage in the Black River were a little disconcerting, especially since the river is part of the Vermillion/Lorain water trail. Path is uncrowded and easy to walk/jog and push a stroller or wheelchair.

Paved, easy walking (even for your pup!) trail, very clean, also has renovated playground for the little ones.

We hiked the entire Black River Trail today from Ford Road to 611. It was about 7 miles. What a nice walk. It was all asphalt except for minor deviations for the waterfalls, the cottonwood and the offshoots to the river. The bridges were in great shape and we had excellent vistas over the Black River in about 7 places. We had great views of the slag fields which was I assume an easement which was very nice. The trails wee clean and well kept. We did it in about 3 hours. We started South and finished North. Either way do the whole trial. Plenty to see and a couple restrooms. A little cold but we were moving so it was barely noticeable.

How lucky we are to have such a great park system. Especially Black River Reservation.
It energizes you to walk among the trees, especially this time of year with the colors. I would rather walk Black River Reservation than a treadmill! It's grate to see they have made some refuge for the animals and birds for us to enjoy them. Thanks to our park system, keep up your good work.

The Black River Reservation has a great blacktop path for walking or biking. It is over 6 miles long, crossing the Black River with multiple bridges as it winds through the valley. It is a nice smooth path for easy walking with nice scenery. There is a kayak launch, but that is a pain to use as it isn't maintained well and has less than the best access. There are usually people around, but it is almost never crowded.
