The Alfresco Grand river trip on the Brahmaputra was a worthwhile experience which gave me an appreciation of the size of the river and an insight to the busy waterways.
The vessel is comfortable with all amenities and a full srvice bar. We took the afternoon tour which lasted from 16:00 to 17:00. The lower deck Rs650 featured a disco but we opted for the upper deck Rs750. There us also a sunset cruise and a dinner cruise.
Our host Kaushik was most personable and allocated a fine corner table fir us on the upper deck, amd he also shared an excellent restaurant recommendation.

Sailing in the majestic ship was itself a different experience. The ambience was great. once you board you reach the lobby floor with the bar. Take a stroll to the balcony to have a majestic view of the mighty Brahmaputra river with the cool breeze. On the down there is the beautiful dining arena.

Guwahati Alfresco Grand Cruising has been on my bucket list for a long time, and I was very happy to be there. I took the sunset cruise, and it was awesome. I never thought that the view of Guwahati was so beautiful to see from the water. I really enjoyed cruising around Guwahati as well as the DJ and solo songs. All the staff are very kind and helpful and specifically Mr. Kaushik who helped me a lot.
Dear friends, whenever you plan to visit Guwahati I suggest you to go for Guwahati cruising, from there you will get to see a very beautiful view of Guwahati City.

We took the sunset cruise, and it was perfect. What a lovely way to see Guwahati from the water while enjoying some delicious snacks (I recommend the spring rolls) and cocktails (possibly the best whiskey sour I have ever tasted.) The staff is very helpful and Kaushik Das went out of his way to make sure our reservation was confirmed ( I don't think they take international credit cards) and that we had a good experience.

Loved the sunset cruise. It was a memorable experience. Upper deck is prefered Recommended.Food was amazing.

I booked Alfresco’s sunset cruise in the morning of the same day and that led us to getting reserved seats on the upper deck with our names written on the tables. At the entry there is ample parking available and I had to collect tickets physically even though I had booked it and made payment in advance. Once the cruise started it was wonderful to see the sunset on the river and feel the breeze coming in. You get snacks and drinks which you can order during the 1 hour cruise. The seats were however not very comfortable and there was a AC outdoor unit near our seat which caused some discomfort. There was also singing and music going on in the lower deck which we could hear but not see. The cruise however is something one must do to see Brahmaputra river up close.

Alfresco Grand is a really nice initiative. This cruise on the mighty river Brahmaputra in the evenings with a sunset view itself is a wonderful experience for us. The upper deck was under renovation so we couldn't experience that. There are a lot of things they can add and improve to make the cruise more attractive for all local, domestic as well as foreign tourists. They should improve hospitality in the future. Nobody wearing a proper uniform or identity card among the staff. They should arrange audiovisuals to explain the history of Brahmaputra, as well as the state and culture. They can introduce local dances or folk music to make the trip more interesting.

We were late in buying tickets and couldn't manage the cruise between 5.30 pm to 6.30 pm, ideal to watch the sun go down from the top deck. However, we managed tickets for a later trip but couldn't get seats on the top deck. We were disappointed till we boarded the cruise and explored the decks. We then realised that after sundown, the top deck is dark, cramped and hot if there is no breeze. Moreover, the ship's oil fumes were wafting across the deck. On the other hand, the deck below had fans, a bar, a music band playing, better lighting and more space - enough to dance on. Can't say much about the food since we stuck to beer and fish fingers which were quite decent.

There are 2 cruise,
1. Sunset Cruise (for approx 1 hr) for Rs. 500 per person
2. Dinner Cruise( for 1 hr 30 min) for Rs. 1300 per person
I did the night cruise, it showcased different north eastern dances and then live music followed by awesome dinner.

I’m not too sure, as long as you have waters in Bhramputra the sail shall not cease. I would suggest you to check with the booking office , before you schedule your trip. Their customer support is prompt.

If you are reaching Guwahati earlier than 18th Nov then you can do the booking in advance. Otherwise prior one day booking can be done. For more details you can visit their website and check.

Yes, Alfresco Grand started Lunch Cruise, reporting time is 12 pm. You can book via their contact mobile number or online( available at their website) on the same day.
But Sunset Cruise ride is more enchanting.
