“Not just a mere Mere!”

Disappointing. Took less than 10 minutes to walk around. No cafe. Wouldn't bother to go back. Needham Lake is so much better.

Not just a mere Mere!

This was a lovely find in the middle of the town. Wide open space for families to enjoy, with a car park nearby, and access to the town centre walking past the mere. A beautifully kept mere, with fishing for the local angling club. Houses and businesses back onto the mere, so you cannot walk all the way round, but just feel jealous of the views they can enjoy daily! Picnic benches are also scattered around so you can sit in comfort to enjoy the area.

Good viewpoints around this lake.

Nice information boards (mud amazingly deep in the lake!) both looking down from near Registry Office & also at main access near shops (& public toilets).
Village is well worth a couple of hours wander, even in the rain. Parking well signed, near centre, not expensive.

Pleasant walk in the centre of a town

We had read so much in the tourism information, thay we wanted to have a look at Diss Mere. It's a pleasant area, with a path part way around. There is a path from the car park and also one from the main shopping street.

Nice seating to relax and view Mere at the end of the main high street. Loved the fountain. Some stunning properties overlooking the Mere. Nice surprise seeing this at the end of a high street

Lovely and relaxing

A lovely place to sit and watch the world go by. Some great wild life spotted. We were lucky as a lot of the ducks and geese had babies. It was a lovely sight. Well worth a visit. Just to sit and relax.

Cracking food at the Cafe

2020年11月

This is a delightful place to visit after the busyness of the town centre. To sit & dream watching the wildlife, was an act of complete relaxation. The town is full of wonderful architecture and a well attended market is in progress on a Friday. A local cafe nearby opposite Boots the chemist, serves delicious bacon rolls & paninis reasonably priced as well as good coffee and hot chocolate. We must support these local businesses to keep them going in these strange times.

What a feature.

This lake forms the centre of the Town and was clean and well maintained with an evening play available free and pleasant fishermen to speak to the next morning. A great asset.
