We visited in May luckily on a lovely day. The whole site is well cared for and is easy walking as all the paths are maintained to a high standard (would be accessible for wheelchair users). The volunteers were so helpful and knowledgeable nothing was to much trouble. Would throughly recommend a visit I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.

Multiple habitats, lots of feeders and hides, places to sit. Excellent friendly staff and volunteers, good paths and walkways, all on the flat. Lots of wildlife , birds, deer, voles. A really good day out.

This reserve is owned by the Hawk and Owl Trust.There is a variety of habitats: fen, woodland, reedbed, ponds and streams. It is well-provided with boardwalks so it is very accessible for buggies and wheelchairs. There are several hides and feeding stations and nest boxes are dotted around the reserve. There is a large car park and a small visitor centre. The reserve is open from 8am and is located near the A148 Fakenham/King's Lynn road. We spent over 3 hours at this venue and saw more than 40 species of birds, including Tawny Owl, Brambling and Siskin. The volunteers who staff the reserve were friendly and helpful. There isn't an entry fee but a minimum donation of £7 would be appreciated.

A brilliant reserve a few miles from the coast. Very friendly and knowledgable staff. Plenty of bird feeders around with the opportunity to see many finches, tits and other Forest birds close up. Varied habitat so many other species to see and the hides are very well maintained and positioned. I spent a happy 5 hours at the reserve and it was good value for the £7 entrance fee

This nature reserve is a relaxing and peaceful place to spend an afternoon and ideal if you like walking and spotting wildlife. The hides are a very good size so they don’t feel crowded. There is no cafe, which is a shame, but there is a drinks machine in the Visitor centre.

Its a few years since we visited the nature reserve on a previous visit to the area.
We always enjoy our visit. Good car park, nice walks around and you could spend a couple of hours or a lot longer.
I’m not sure if all of the reserve is but a lot is and the hides have access for wheelchairs which isn’t always the case. There are also a good number of benches if someone in your party needs to rest or you just want to sit and enjoy nature round you.
Although I don’t require nature reserves to be accessible I know there is accessible on paper and accessible in reality as my sister’s partner uses a mobility scooter but Sculthorpe Moor appears on Euan’s Guide and gets positive reviews.

So much expertise and effort has gone in to creating a wonderful space to experience nature. There’s a range of habitats, spacious hides, easy access and nature in abundance. I received a warm welcome from Jacqui, the volunteer staffing reception. As a ‘first time’ visitor Jacqui got me oriented, and I spent four happy hours wandering and watching. It was a blissful afternoon.

It was a very hot day when we visited so didn’t see too much. We did spot a red kite, buzzard, reed buntings, robins, greenfinches, great and blue tits, egret, water vole, swifts and others I have forgotten. There were lots of benches along the boardwalks to the various hides and a fair bit of shade.

Lovely place to lose yourself and wander from hide to hide. We saw a number of birds and as the weather wasn't great we had the place pretty much to ourselves! Suggested donation of £7 to enter and well worth it

We had a look round all the hides and saw all sorts of birds - red kites, bullfinches, buzzards, bramblings etc etc. It was really great to get into nature for a couple of hours. Will definitely return.

Do you have wheelchairs for hire and close is the nearest hide, I would love to bring my husband who loves birds but is now on oxygen and unable to walk far.

There are two wheelchairs available for visitors to borrow at the start of the boardwalk. Probably best to phone on the day to ensure one is available. You can park close to the boardwalk away from the main car park. There are 5 hides in all - and all accessible by wheel-chair. The nearest is in the woodland area - about 300m from the start.

Hi there. We only allow assistance dogs on the reserve due to the many ground nesting birds, mammals and amphibians. Sorry.
