Loved the area as it was chilled and relaxed, but with a nice vibrant atmosphere. Went to The Dockyward, which had great service along with top food and drink. Fantastic transport links with the tram service available and it's walking distance to Old Trafford and the Stadium. Worth a visit as it has shops and bars along the quayside.

We stayed in Media city in the holiday inn. The location was great as was the hotel, would definitely recommend. You have the Lowry and the imperial war museum north to visit. We didn't do the coronation street experience as it was £34 each , but others might enjoy it. We jumped on the tram behind the war museum and went to the Trafford centre for a spot of evening shopping after we'd had our dinner and drinks at the alchemist, also nice to visit. The tram was only £3.10 return and the shopping centre was open till 10pm. On a previous visit to Salford Quays we caught the tram from the quays and went into Manchester and did a guided wdlking tour and also hopped on and off the buses. One last thing to do is go on the Manchester canal river cruise, which you catch down by the Side of the Lowry . It lasts 1 hour and cost us £12 each with a guide to explain the area, though no good if you don't speak English.

Loved the area. Stayed in the premier inn & so quiet and relaxed. Fantastic transport links with the tram service. Walking distance to old Trafford and Manchester United’s stadium

We were staying in the area to visit some museums, and we all really enjoyed walking around media city. My daughter loved seeing the statues of Pudsey Bear and Oops a daisy. The weather in the thing was lovely so it was really peaceful walking along the river.

How times have changed,I remember coming on a school trip in the seventies when it was purely Salford docks. It now resembles a mini Manhattan

Game to Media City for visiting friends while in the Manchester area, a friend of a friend that lives in the area so she showed us around and we also went to Costa coffee, lots of shopping, nice walking a tree area.

Great place, fabulous market square with lots of stalls, lots to see and do. Visited The Lowry for a show then next day to see LSLowry’s exhibition. Will have to go back as not enough time to see it all.

Had a good time at Sanford seeing different place. I definitely recommend for people to visit Sanford when in Manchester.

The hotel location was perfect for our purposes. The staff were welcoming and the room was perfect. The weather was terrible so after doing a spot of shopping instead of eating out we decided not to eat at the hotel. There were 2 staff on duty and the chef. The staff were responsible for reception, the bar and the restaurant. Hence service was very slow I ordered pizza but the chef ran out of base mix my wife ordered breccia which was served on a slice of pizza bread. I went to the toilet situated behind receptionist there was no toilet paper and no soak in the dispenser. Overall hotel was understaffed

Weather spoilt the experience as was raining and very windy. Easy access using the tram. Even Xmas stalls were shut due to the wind

You are asking a visitor, not the company running events, sorry. Suggest you try Manchester Evening News website which is as I have typed but ALL one word, no capitals with co.uk at the end! That’s the best advice I can give you.

We are looking to visit during half term, coming on Thursday 1st November. I notice on the website that it says some areas are closed on a Thursday during term time. How can I find out if this applies on this day as I’m not sure if everyone is on half term this week. Thankyou

Hi, the nearby school my wife works at has half term the week before, but I'm not sure if other schools in the Greater Manchester area all have the same week. I'm afraid it don't know which areas might be closed on Thursday during term time. I can only suggest you try contacting the website. Sorry I can't be of more help. Hope you enjoy your trip. Alan

Hi all,
So my fiancé has booked the Corrie tour for this Saturday as a 30th birthday present to me.
We’re arriving at a local hotel on Friday lunchtime and I’d love to be able to treat her, to say thank you.

Hi, there yes there are a few places to eat in the area but my advice would be to either hop on the metro or grab a taxi into Manchester. Uber shouldn’t cost much. From what I remember I’d not call any in media city romantic but I’ve not been for over a year since moving away. Have a great time 😍

The closest Train Station is Manchester Piccadilly - you can then get either the Media City Tram or Eccles Tram. Which will take you close to the studios, there is a shorter walk from the Media City tram stop. There are no Train stations close to media city.

If you get there a few hours before and park in multi story, the Lowry shopping centre is next to it, to waste some time. if going straight there id say beware of rush hour between 4.30-6.00pm.you could end up missing the show
