Another lovely evening at the Heron, amazing garlic bread, fantastic chicken burger and made all the better by our fantastic waitress Bella. We look forward to coming back again soon.

Noisy, over priced, poor quality food badly cooked with tough sparse vegetables. Served coffee before the dessert! A waiter and waitress hugging and embracing in full view.

This place was such a delightful find! Great food, lovely staff and a beautiful setting. I only wish I lived nearer - it would definitely be a weekly trip for me if I did!

I had a very pleasant roast beef dinner. However the beef was extremely tough to cut, and I would recommend sharpening the cutlery or use Steak knives.
I also found the carrots were undercooked along with the broccoli.
I have been there many times, but will be looking to go elsewhere in the future.

Went on Saturday with friends scallops were pretty inedible to much capers on plate.
Steak wasn't how they describe on menu .
Said to waitress she said she would pass message on.

4 of us attended The Heron and not having been there for some years I wasn’t expecting much but I was hugely surprised! The meal was superb, the service was quick, friendly, polite and staff knowledgeable about the menu. Our drinks were refilled frequently without having to wave for attendance. As it was a Friday lunchtime it was busy but it did not detract from the enjoyment of the meal and a catch up with another couple. We were seated quickly and given a polite send off! All in all, a lovely experience!

Apalling service and food. Paid premium price for New Years Eve pre- chosen set menu. We could not have what we had chosen and the substitute was a re heated roast dinner of which the potatoes were so hard, they were not edible. Entertainment was appalling, no atmosphere and no party as we were led to believe. Left early as did others. Feedback sent to head office with no response. I do not recommend this venue and will not be returning.

Brilliant New Year’s eve dinner with “Rat Pack” live singers. Good food (as always) served by very friendly and helpful staff. Great atmosphere. Well done!

Great lunch by the lake! The tapas were great and the service was excellent. Bella Roberts served us and she is just a star! Bella was attentive, happy, efficient, and a real asset to your restaurant. An absolute pleasure to have such a lovely young lady serve our table. We will be back.

Planned to go to Heron for lunch as one of the team leaving our office. 12 of us so booked and was advised to provide food choices in advance.

Yes, we serve a half roast chicken, sirloin of beef, roasted on the day and carved to order, roast pork and a nut roast, all served with freshly roasted potatoes and home made Yorkshire puddings. Please book on line at destination inns / Heron on the lake or give us a call
