We celebrated a family 90th Birthday with a group of 27 family and friends, ages ranging from 5 years to 90 years and had a wonderful celebration lunch.
The room was perfect. Beth Curant was so helpful, responsive and met all our requests from the first contact until the. The staff on the day were brilliant. So friendly, helpful, the service was attentive and professional. The food was really delicious. We could not have had a better experience and I can not thank the staff enough. It made for a very successful, very special day.

We recently had afternoon tea here following my Father’s Thanksgiving service. The staff helping to plan the event were very efficient.
On the day the staff were lovely. We had a buffet but they were coming to the tables offering further drinks and food as needed. It is a lovely room looking out over the green and has good acoustics. The food was incredible and we have had many people comment about how much they enjoyed it. I particularly enjoyed the macarons and the chocolate dipped strawberries.
The whole place has a very friendly atmosphere. I suspect it would be great for any event but I would highly recommend for funeral refreshments. Thank you

Sadly, my mother passed away and we needed to find somewhere to hold her reception. We chose this venue as my mother had visited for lunch on several occasions and always enjoyed the experience.
Beth and her team were very professional and helpful leading up to the day of the funeral reception which was held in the Alex Thurgood room. The food was of excellent quality with sandwiches, hot food and tea and coffee; a private bar was included in the cost of the hire.
All the staff were very attentive and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. We would strongly recommend the Harpenden Common Golf club for any occasion.

One visit to this lovely club showed me how extraordinarily friendly everyone was. The warmth of the welcome I got left me in no doubt that this was the perfect club for me to join which I did in January 2020 and have loved every minute of it.

Just finished a round of golf here as a guest of a member. Great course. Nice and level so it's not tiring but still very interesting. Some very challenging holes. Loved the greens. Excellent condition. Highly recommend a visit. You can turn up and play because they have a system to allow starts from 1st and 9th that works very well.

There could have been no other choice for the venue for the funeral reception for my Mum. We had celebrated her 91st birthday with all the family in the upstairs bar just 6 months before and had a lovely time, so it was fitting to return. On both occasions the staff were brilliant, professional and very kind. The birthday party was an afternoon tea with sandwiches, scones and cakes. The funeral was a buffet and afterwards the minister told me it was the best food she had ever had on such an occasion.

Visited for first time,with my daughter and 3 yr old grandson,to have lunch with Grandad..
Great food,super service and very reasonable.Lovely venue.

I coordinated a 5-course black tie dinner for 47 people at relatively short notice (one month). Beth, their event organiser, was very helpful and quickly provided all of the background information I needed. The menu options were good and it wasn’t difficult to decide on 3 canapés, 2 starters, 3 mains, 2 deserts, cheese and biscuits. The wine list is sensibly priced as are drinks from the bar. On the day the waiting staff did very well laying out the tables and serving the food, Martin and Tina in the kitchen delivered great food promptly and on hot plates; the bar staff were not only efficient but appeared to enjoy the disco as well. The disco and DJ were contracted separately but based upon a suggestion from HCGC. It is a modern building and easy to add décor as required. All personnel were very professional and all guests had a brilliant night. I’ve no doubt we will go there again - scoring them 10/10 is rare for me but it was excellent.

I've been a member for three years, having joined from another club in Harpenden. The whole ethos is a friendly and welcoming club.
The Course is challenging enough for all handicaps, whilst being an easy walk. The course is kept in suberb condition, and thanks to the maintenance methods adopted it does not suffer from 'Winter Greens' (a hole in the fairway!), unlike most others in the area.
A superb clubhouse with good food and beverage. A visit to Harpenden Common will not leave you disappointed.
