Hidden quirky gem and always visit when in Margate. Had a many a good evening spent here, good choice of beers.

Friendlier bar staff would help

The decor and the vibe as we walked in was really fun. There were some people dancing and it looked like a cool place to be. We went to sit in the waltzer chair near the entrance. My boyfriend went to the bar to see what drinks were on offer and there were no menus and no display. I went to join him as he started ordering himself an alcoholic slushie. I asked the lady serving what drinks there were as there were no menus, she looked blankly at me and rudely asked me what did I want. As a neurodivergent person I struggle to make a decision without knowing what’s available and I don’t have a particular thing I drink. She looked annoyed about giving me some options and eventually I ordered wine and went to sit down.
When my boyfriend later went to ask about the t shirts on display she could not have been nicer to him which just seemed really weird after being so off with me. As we left she even waved to him and totally ignored me! Shame as it tarred my experience and later we met the very lovely Ruby who also works at the bar who could not have been nicer.

A feast for the eyes 👀

We run the Royston Micropub in Broadstairs, so with a rare Saturday off, we decided to head into Margate and have a drink with Phil in The Fez. What a magical place with a great vibe! 😎 A feast for the eyes, choc full of a lifetimes collection of eclectic furniture and decorations. Great condition beer too 🍺👍🏻 Glad we finally made it over mate and will definitely be back!

Unique - so much fun ♡

We visited on Ukulele night (Tuesdays) and it was one of the best pub nights we have had in a while. Really interesting venue with odd bits and bobs all over the walls, the Uke band were amazing with a combination of new covers and old shanty classic, they handed out kazoos too! Almost a shame we don't live in Margate to go every Tuesday :)

Great little bar with nice selection of drinks. The bar tender was friendly and gave us good advice on where to eat in town.

Very nice fun bar!

Great bar / pub with very good drinks at the right prices. I went with a friend for an evening drink. We loved the place full of quirky things. The staff is nice too.

Coolest bar in Margate

Brilliant bar filled with funky paraphernalia assembled with the eye of an artist. You are cocooned in its curious embrace, not least because the regulars give such a warmth of welcome. I loved it and it goes a long way towards explaining why I fell in love with Margate.

Wow! An absolute gem in Margate. Welcomed like an old friend despite being my first time visiting. A guided tour of the various quirks and made to feel welcome from start to end. Well kept cask ale, amazing decor. Will visit again on my next trip to Margate. Thanks!
