Bought two vouchers off The Woodland Spa was told I had 12 month to use them on booking .. used one in February just tried to book other voucher to be told it expired 72 hours ago but that’s only 6 month not 12 month … oh yes we changed it from 12 to 6 month this year it I was told I had 12 month…. They won’t honour or do anything about it I’ve been a regular at this spa since it first open and spent thousands of pounds with them but won’t be spending another penny with them after this…. not good to treat regulars in this way … I’m fuming they took my money but won’t honour the booking or offer anything in return…why should I lose out because staff gave wrong info 😡😩

We understand there may have been some confusion regarding the validity period of the voucher you received during our Black Friday promotion. Having listened to our recorded phone call correspondence, we can confirm that we have only advised of a 6 month validation period for the voucher as per the term’s and condition’s of the voucher. You accept the voucher is past its expiration and express you frustration as to the time elapsed only being a few days.
Whilst we understand your disappointment that the voucher has expired, it is essential for us to ensure that all our customers are treat equally and fairly. Our terms and conditions are designed to provide a consistent and fair service to all guests, and the validity period is an integral part of these terms.
We want to assure you that we strive to create the best possible experience for all our guests, including offering special promotions and deals. In the case of monetary gift vouchers, we do indeed have a longer validity period of 24 months to provide ample time for their utilisation.
As the date of expiry has lapsed on your Black Friday voucher, we regretfully cannot offer any extension to its validity. Had gift vouchers worth £75 bought as a gift just before lockdown ….lockdown rules on for more or less 2 years couldn’t get in touch easy when trying to book they will now NOT HONOUR the vouchers didn’t even care after suffering a family bereavement which caused delay in booking too so woodland have had £75 off me and give me nothing rip off !!! I ouodnr even compromise and I would have been spending more with them !!!

We came as a couple for a spa day and we left very pleased! Lovely facilities and massages, we were especially impressed by the food and the outdoor area! We had a great time and would return.

The facilities were excellent. The food we were served was really good but we did feel let down by the restaurant experience. My Wife and I booked our £358 spa day for two, 2 months prior and asked if our dietary needs could be catered for: gluten free and vegan and we were assured they would be. On arrival we were given a lovely fruit salad as an alternative to the pastries available. As part of the experience you get a 2 course dinner (main and dessert) and a glass of wine. I was informed that the house white wine was not vegan and none of the vegan whites were sold by the glass and only by the bottle. Why offer a glass of wine if you can't actually supply one? I then had to go through the wine menu and found there was only 1 red wine offered by the glass so had to settle for this. During lunch, we were only offered the Vegan menu and although there were some nice main options, the desserts were limited to 1 option, fruit and sorbet, which I didn't want as I had had fruit on arrival. I did request the main menu to see if there were any alternatives available, but was ignored, so settled for the sorbet (I later discovered there were suitable choices available on the main menu).
Also, despite us stating we were gluten free, staff repeatedly brought gluten containing flapjack on the same saucers as our hot drinks. We only discovered they contained gluten because we asked before consuming (thankfully). This would be very dangerous to someone who was coeliac.
Over all, we were made to feel undervalued as a paying customer and that we were a nuisance. Not the customer service we were expecting at all.
Also, despite us stating we were gluten free, staff repeatedly brought gluten containing flapjack on the same saucers as our hot drinks. We only discovered they contained gluten because we asked before consuming (thankfully). This would be very dangerous to someone who was coeliac.

Booked a spa day as part of a dinner bed & breakfast package for a friends 50th. Booking was simple including booking treatments for all 6 of us.
The front entrance of the spa was having some work done so we had to enter via Bertram’s restaurant. For the ‘inconvenience’ we were each given a £10 voucher to spend either at the spa or in any food and drink area.
The reception staff were smoothly professional but warm and friendly. Our lockers were pre-assigned and with robes and towels ready inside.
The spa itself is warm, relaxing, welcoming and comfortable. There are a plethora of thermal choices from the indoor spa pool and serenity pool to the outdoor pool and hot spa’s. Even though it was busy with people the pools were quiet enough so you felt you had space.
We all had treatments. 2 of our pre booked ones (back massages) had to be cancelled due to a shortage of staff but this was thought out and am element of a back massage was incorporated into our facials in the afternoon.
Drinks in the terrace bar are not cheap but they are generous so what seems a steep cost is actually pretty average.
I cannot recommend enough and/or wait to go back!!!

Originally booked spa day and was told to look through treatments and pre book before stay. Rang to book treatments and was told that there was no availability for any treatment on the day we were scheduled to go. We then re-booked as we were found a day with treatments availability only to find that it was select half treatments available. Not wanting to give up! We decided to opt for this, we were told about construction work prior to visit so that wasn’t really and issue.
During my treatment the sound of the treatment room next door talking and laughing very loudly was pretty off putting! Safe to say I was more relaxed before the treatment and I certainly wasn’t after it. The noise of next door echoed throughout the room for the whole treatment. I was actually relieved that it was only half a treatment as I couldn’t have tolerated it for a full session. The therapist commented that I felt very tense at the end funnily enough. When I highlighted that the noise was really off putting I was told it’s just next door. **This review is purely for the treatment and it really ruin the spa experience. The actual spa itself and the staff were great! ***

I visited the spa on 28th April 2023 for a treatment and for some lunch and whilst the therapist herself did a great job in the situation she was put in, the experience was very disappointing.
I realise the spa have emailed warning customers of potential disruption due to building work but I did not anticipate this involving drilling directly above my head in the treatment room! It was more like torture than pampering!
I really don’t think the spa should be opening treatment rooms whilst work is going on in such close proximity, it literally felt at times like the roof was going to come in and I’d be joined by some workmen! The noise actually kept making me jump, to the extent I felt more stressed after the event than before. Having been bought this as a gift and really looking forward to it, I found it quite upsetting.
I have always had a great experience here on previous occasions but i would strongly recommend waiting until all work is complete before going to avoid disappointment. The £10 voucher to spend in the spa does not in any way compensate for the poor experience!

I booked the thermal and dine experience and added on the mud Rasul for me and my boyfriend for his birthday.
The spa itself is an amazing spa with all the facilities you need. The serenity pool room is a nice touch as you get to relax and have a little nap following a treatment or lunch. I haven’t seen this at other spas!
The outdoor space is great with a fireplace and outside terrace bar. It was a cold day with a little rain when we was there but I can imagine in the summer time it would be a great place to spend the day!
Whilst this spa is great and I would certainly come back with friends or my partner again I wanted to give a positive review for their attentiveness. Whilst booking over the telephone I briefly mentioned it would be my boyfriends birthday the day we would be attending and we never mentioned this to anyone on the day of arrival. However, when having our afternoon meal a few customers had a dessert with a sparkler brought to their table… at this point I thought oh no I should have requested them to do this for my boyfriends birthday. But before I knew it they came to our table with a dessert and sparkler with the words happy birthday on the plate and gave it to my boyfriend. I thought this was such a nice touch, I am not sure if the lady during the booking process made a note or requested this or if the staff noticed it was his birthday from the medical form (as it had his date of birth). Either way I thought it made the experience that little more special.
The only negative I would give is the steps to the outside pool were rusty and it didn’t look nice. Given the amount of money you pay I would expect them to keep the standards high. Despite this I would still come back.

Always a great relaxing day out. No disturbance from building works to us other than having to walk up the stairs through Bertram's to access . Lift was out of order which we were told in advance.
Not quite as fantastic as usual this week hence only 4 stars. Several people commenting outdoor pools too cold to use or having to warm up in heat room after a few minutes use despite keeping shoulders under water. Have used them in mid winter with ice on the ground and a similar cool wind and they've always been toasty.
Mentioned to reception. Only wanted an apology really. However they said manager had been called to check them that day(so guess others had commented?) and it was just an illusion they were cooler with the wind chill. Day guests all begged to differ! Not the best customer service for the price.

Hi not been before so Just wondering if anyone knows if they serve cocktails like pornstar Martinis at the outside terrace as only could see online they do Prosecco kinda ones ? Also for lunch is it just the terrace or Bertram’s I saw the lounge menu online that looked nice but if you had to walk over to it with your robes on guessing it wouldn’t be ideal ? Thanks

It was very cold outside today but the hot tubs were lovely and warm, you just needed to get your shoulders under water. The pool felt cool as you got in but it was lovely, honestly! Perhaps as it goes dark the temperature of the hot tubs should be a little higher.

I went in the summer so could enjoy the outside facilities but the thermal experience inside at any time of year will be lovely!! Enjoy :)

When I booked my break, I called in to book and have a look round but I live only an hour away. Not so easy to do when you live a distance. I would recommend giving them a call with plenty of notice because it does get booked in advance at weekends especially.

Hi just booked an overnight spa treat for me and my bf. It's his birthday, has anyone arranged with the hotel balloons etc? Does the hotel provide a complimentary in room happy birthday treat?
Also our package includes breakfast, two treatments and dinner. Is the dinner a 3 course each, and to what limit? They haven't explained.
Also does our deal include lunch?
