I have visited Cowman’s 3 times now and purchased a selection of flavoured sausages on each visit.
The sausages were meaty but dry and really lacked flavour, they all tasted the same. Flavours selected were pork and Blacksticks Blue cheese, pork and ginger, cajun, pork mustard and honey, beef chilli and pork and apple. We found the skins on all the sausages very tough. We have found some of the better supermarkets speciality ranges and other butchers to be superior to Cowmans, very disappointing.

Poor. Sausages don’t actually really taste of much. Tried beef and tomato and the pork and apple cider. Beef just tasted of beef, no tomato, and the pork just had a tiny hint of apple, nothing else. Skin was very tough too.

We’ve been customers of Cliffs for almost 30 years. In that time we’ve never had any substandard food or service. The range of sausages is amazing.
Service is always top notch and friendly.

Love this shop best sausages,best service and best sausage shop in the world highly recommended, well worth a visit should be in the tourist guide for clitheroe !

Fantastic butchers, you can't visit clitheroe without calling in. The selection is huge. Only other butchers I've seen with the same choice is Beavers in Masham Yorkshire. Came away with a good selection, only pork though as I think a sausage should only be made from pork. Looking forward to sampling this selection.

Have been making the trip to Cowmans for years to stock up the freezer with a selection of their excellent sausages. Pork and Fennel is a favourite but we haven't been disappointed by anything we've bought here. Great steak too. And while you're there, pop around to Byrne's wine shop for something nice to do the sausages proud.

Cowmans have a fantastic variety of delicious sausages to choose from. They also have a great selection of all the other meat products normally found in any high street butchers all excellent quality.

Oh my our first time having these sausage ❤️❤️❤️ They are superb, we had the caramelised onion yum yum and the honey ones
They are so so meaty taste like a proper sausage NO FAT AT ALL. No rubbish in them 😯. Loads and loads varieties you will not be disappointed 😃
Worth a trip , Just need to know if I can freeze them, will be stocking up my freezer if I can 😂😃

Visited the Market Town of Clitheroe by train as part of making December a truly enjoyable Christmas month. My Wife and I so enjoy the run up to Christmas. There was no way we would visit Clitheroe without visiting this wonderful shop.
It has a most attractive window display that reminds us both of our somewhat distant youth. Wonderful range of sausages, high quality and very reasonably priced. The Venison sausages caught our attention on this occasion, but we also bought some beautiful smoked middle bacon as well as a substantial leg of lamb. A real treat with very amenable staff, appeared to be very popular with locals and visitors alike.
The sight of a springer spaniel outside the store licking its lips at the thoughts and smell of the contents of the shop brought a big smile to our faces, it was like something from a cartoon!
