I went to the pub lastnight it was a 70s and 80s do
Now other than the £10 ticket it was a good night. The music was good.
The £10 was for a burger and chips and my goodness it was just that. Plain burger no salad no cheese no onions no nothing. And a handful of chips. I've had better burgers from a van at the side of the road.
The music and company made it a good night. I wouldn't of paid for the food we received.

Hi I’m sorry you didn’t enjoy our food. The ticket price was for the whole night, not just the food, including the entertainment and was we believe very good value for money. Are monthly the nights are very popular and we do hope to see you again soon.

What a friendly pub!
It was packed inside and out - everyone was enjoying themselves. Great for a stop after a walk in this beautiful part of England …. But even better it would seem the locals think the same which always says something!
I like a pub that is dog friendly which it definitely is! Maybe that’s why it was full - relaxed not stuffy!
The beer (Moretti and Gold) both draught went down too quickly 😂 - could have stayed much longer!
Too easy to criticise people trying their best especially when starting out - I am really happy to recommend!
Give it a go! Your dirty walking boots will be made welcome 🚶♀️🥾🍺🥳

Called in for a drink after a walk and was greeted by 3 large very scary dogs showing their teeth, the new people in charge just stood there. Staff are miserable and not welcoming at all, the pub has no atmosphere , dirty and grundy, definitely not be going back.

I’m at a loss to understand this review and it certainly is not something any of our guests or staff recognise. If you are referring to our ten month old Labrador puppies that we may have had on a lead as we were about to take them for a walk, I can assure these laid back babies have never shown their teeth to anyone.
As I see your other comments in reviews Catherine are also not recognised, I can only assume your review is designed to malign our friendly little pub.

Purely a review of the PINT I had after the trek I did close by. After working up a decent thirst I was looking forward to the pint I knew I would be getting at the end. Sort of a light at the end of the tunnel. Was happy to see they had moretti on draft (a favourite). Went out into the courtyard out back, fully expected to neck half in 0.5 seconds but no. It was not only the worst pint of moretti I've had but probably the worst pint I've ever had! I had the 1 swig and couldn't drink anymore. The disappointment after the walk was like a kick in the nuts.
Again this review is about the pint not the pub as a whole. The pub seemed nice enough and lively but didn't stay long enough to form a full opinion.

I attended a wedding here on 18/06/22. The location is beautiful for photos, the food was absolutely gorgeous, the service was spot on, entertainment fantastic. Here comes the BUT, it was freezing, both inside & out. During the meal when the door was shut I took my husbands jacket off but then after the meal the door was left open & I had to put my husband’s jacket on again. I shivered through most of the day. Heat would have been nice. Could have been mobile heaters if the old radiators needed cracking up 2 days in advance.
Also the gent’s toilets do not accommodate wheelchair users, access not wide enough, so we had to be vigilant by the ladies toilets. I was at first concerned about access for a wheelchair user or someone with a pram from outside because access was by 2 steps but they did bring out a metal ramp, so well done for that but you need to sort out the disabled men’s toilet issue, we should not be sending women away from the toilet because a man is in there!
Next problem, and it is the area, there was no signal on our phones! So anyone that wanted to check if their kids were OK at home couldn’t use their phones. Seriously, in this day and age you need internet access in your establishment.
The day was supervised & organised beautifully and I thank you for that.

Great place to have a drink or a few after doing any group walk, especially when heading up to Darwen Tower on route, which is fantastic convenience and a little help from SatNavAnd (walking group nickname) navigation skills. What a fantastic choice of lager and ales this place has available to accommodate everyone. The Bierra Moretti, Magic Sponge ale and another pale ale I tried out were great and enjoyed them all. Fantastic customer service at all times and would definitely be happy to make another trip and therefore recommend this pub to anyone without reservation.

A great pub in the countryside. Friendly staff, dog friendly and great selection of ales.
Children are also welcome in the back room. The pub is always busy at weekends, but it is usually possible to get a table.. Apparently food is also served here, simple meals. I have not eaten here myself, but the reports are good.

Called in here a few times now, with our dog, after a great walk. Really friendly owners, dogs welcomed and lovely surroundings. Highly recommend a visit.

Fantastic welcome as usually every time I visit (frequently!). They always have different real ales and beers available. It’s a great place to visit after a walk on the moors and dogs are very welcome.
