I love this little gem of a yarn shop. From basic yarn, patterns and needles to something a bit special. Donna stocks a great range. Regular Craft2gether’s (check the website as lots on now as it’s so popular) have forged friendships and a great community spirit. I relearned how to crochet here at a workshop. Everyone is friendly and there’s always someone to help you if you get stuck.

An absolute gem of a yarn shop! The best in the Newcastle area, I have been to a few, but this is the only one who offers a really good (ie not just standard, somewhat acrylic heavy) assortment of wool, including hand dyed, but also notions. Manage to find really good sock needles and picked up some additional lovely sock yarn a the same time. Normally quite tricky to find solid coloured sock yarn for colourwork, here I was spoiled for choice. The yarn is beautifully displayed with lots of colours available. Highly recommended!

I live in Newcastle and happily travel 14 miles north to use this darling little treasure.
Always a friendly and helpful welcome.
Craft workshops are good, never to late to learn something new.
Pop in and see for yourself, worth a visit.

Love this place. I meet up with like minded people for knit/crochet and natters. A wide range of yarn from the basic Stylecraft to some very tasty ranges in gorgeous colours.
Get togethers happen weekly on Friday afternoons and monthly on first Wednesday evening and second Saturday mornings.
Check out the website for dates, plus workshops too.

A fantastic local yarn shop and community space. Donna stocks a wide range of yarns from budget Stylecraft (in every colour!!) and Drops to more specialist yarns such as Greta and the Fibers from Barcelona (free cowl pattern thrown in!!). There are regular craft togethers on Saturaday mornings, Friday afternoons and Wednesday evenings with full details on their website. There are also a wide range of fibre based workshops too with lovely instructors.

Treacle is the best wool shop well worth seeking out it's tucked away behind the Chantry
Absolutely fabulous selection of yarns from Drops and small independent producers
Drop in's and loads of workshop options

A fantastic shop,run by the lovely Donna, with a great choice of yarn. Friendly customers who regularly meet upstairs for tea/coffee, cake/biscuits, knitting/crochet and a chat. I love going there.

I am a regular visitor at Treacle. The yarn selection is great. The courses are fantastic ... I learned to crochet there and have also done sessions on knitting too. Very friendly. Nothing too much trouble and very helpful with finding special items and selecting patterns. Particularly like the 'wish list' which helped my kids and husband get Christmas presents for me.

After having a break from knitting for a number of years, I found the treacle wool shop very informative giving me advice on both suitable wools and starter patterns. Well worth a visit.

I bought some 100% wool yarn and when I got home realised I hadn't bought enough. I rang the shop the next day and they put another ball aside even though I couldn't get to the shop for another service. I have used this shop before and have always had brilliant service, they are always so helpful and friendly I shall return. As another contributor has said a gem of a shop.
