I went on my first trek today and had the most wonderful time. I’m 65 and only started riding last year and I was very apprehensive about the trek but I needn’t have worried. I had an amazing 2 hour walk and trot trek on a beautiful horse and will definitely be back for more treks very soon.

I contacted the stables the night before on the off chance they would have space for me. They offered me a two hour hack. They are so friendly, professional and the yard and horses well cared for. Will 100% recommend. Very little time on the road, mostly around country park with lovely views. Had a great time.

It's great to hear you enjoyed your 2 hour trek with us and found our staff to be friendly and professional and horses to be well cared for and fun to ride. Absolutely brilliant hack out. My partner is a beginner and I’m more advanced but catered for both of us to enjoy our ride out. Horses were very well mannered and looked after. Would recommend to anyone and I will be returning again

Very rude manager she says go in your car. She had no very nice manner no please or no thanks. only interested with customers come every week. No interest with me when left not say bye or thank you. We had very short canter and if she see paddle small one she make the horse trot. It is a way to speak to customers with please and thank you

Well this comes as rather a shock to read and I feel an unfair account of the ride. We had had heavy rainfall all night and during the day including for the duration of the 3 hour ride which had caused flooding in the local area. Before we set off on the ride I explained to everyone that we could go on the Forest ride route as planned for the 3 hour duration if you wanted to but that it would be very flooded and you wouldn't be able to do much cantering due to the surface water which would make cantering unsafe, so asked if riders would prefer to go on the park where you would be able to do lots of cantering as the Park doesn't flood and has better surfaces for draining water. Everyone including yourself said they would prefer to do more cantering as it was a 3 hour ride and walking and trotting would have been a bit slow and tedious so we decided to go on the park.
Having just counted the canters I did you had over 15 canters in 3 hours and none of them were short! I also went the full length of all the canters and don't remember stopping for puddles on any except the last canter we did as it is not safe to canter through large puddles. I did in fact say on that canter that I would stop before I got to any substantial water as well. Usually when you have had that much rain and continuous rain for 3 hours I think you'll find most riding establishments wouldn't no half as much cantering as we did if any at all.
I also asked you politely to park your car next to the white car as you were in the middle of the car park and we needed to fit other customers' cars in too and another member of staff then had to ask you to park further back as you were sticking out quite far into the car park. We were then waiting for another customer to arrive and can't have customers wondering around the yard unsupervised as it isn't safe in case one or the horses gets up set or kicks etc. so you again were politely asked to just wait by your car until we were ready for everyone to go up to the yard to get on the horses together.
As for when you left I was in the middle of trying to sort out one of the horses who wasn't tied up and can be a little strong on the ground, you walked off without saying thank you or acknowledging anyone before I had a chance to speak to you or anyone else!
Throughout the ride I spoke to everyone, kept checking everyone was ok and the other customers tried to speak to you too and make conversation to no avail.
You in the past have been very rude about some of our horses, our beautiful country park and rude to staff when taking bookings. Courtesy as you have pointed out, goes a long way.

Derbyshire Pony Trecking are fabulous.
I’ve been several times now and always had a great ride.
The staff are beyond helpful and always make sure you have a great time.
I’ve ridden quite a few of their horses and they are all great. Last Sunday I rode Baloo for the first time and he was just lovely. The 2 hours flew by and I’ll be booking again soon. Thank you 💖

Took my daughter and her friend today for a 1 hour hack they had a superb time catering through the fields and though the lovely countryside. The staff are very friendly and made the girls feel very comfortably, they were made very welcome and matched very well with the horses they rode and were given plenty of time to get to know their horse and get positioned well.
If you are thinking of going on a relaxing ride to take in some fresh air and take in the sights this is the place to go. Derby pony trekking is in the ideal location straight of the m1 and my daughter can’t wait to go again.

Absolutely loved my 2hr countryside trek today, with Jane & riding the lovely gentle giant, Mr Tubs…not ridden for a while and he was a very good confidence booster! Thoroughly recommend this trekking centre, very well run, lovely horses, and great scenery, with only about 5 minutes in total of roadwork?
Very friendly, would definitely visit again when in the area…🤩

What a great place to go for a hack! My daughter and I travelled from Lincolnshire today for a 2 hour hack and it was definitely worth the journey. We both already ride so went out with a small group of experienced riders. We got to do plenty of cantering, which we both wanted to do. The countryside in which we rode was very peaceful and quiet with some great views. The horses we rode, Sassy and Lorraine were lovely! Both horses felt very trustworthy the whole time. We will definitely be back!

Loved, loved, loved this lesson with Verity and Sassy. Verity you are a gem and left me thoroughly buzzing afterwards.
It was my first lunge lesson with DPT although I have been riding with them for a while on their lovely treks. It’s a long time since I’ve had a lesson and particularly one on the lunge - I can’t rate the experience highly enough and even the inevitable pain (of rediscovering those long hidden muscles!) was worth the gain. Verity has such an informative way of instructing but in a manner that really helped me to relax whilst still getting me to work hard and improve. I can honestly say that I’ve not had an instructor who has made me feel so comfortable or coached as well as she has. Your style really suited me - thank you. I will definitely be booking another with you as I have a genuine thirst to improve my riding and the experience of the horse.
Sassy was a little star too.
My only disappointment was that the time flew by because I was enjoying myself so much……..roll on lunge lesson number two……

Today we did the 4hr Elmton afternoon tea trek! It was great, so nice to get out on a different route with plenty of great canters. The afternoon tea itself was lovely and the pub was a great place to stop off.
Verity was amazing as our trek leader as always. Always checks in on everyone and full of great information.
Looking forward to our sunset treks next month!

Would you be able to cater for a 75yr old novice? My mums quite poorly but we're thinking of a whole family experience. There are 8 adults and three teenagers. An hour would probably be long enough.

It depends on how many riders you have, private 1-1 is most expensive. £45 per hour for a private 1-1 trek tuition, it's much cheaper if you bring in at least 3 other riders though.

They cater for all levels of ability. Your trek leader will discuss this with you when you phone up and again upon your arrival.
They are brilliant at accommodating all levels of ability
