My daughter is obsessed with buses, well she was at the time of visit and as we were waiting to visit Diddly Squat Farm we came across the museum by accident and as we were turning the car round, my daughter noticed a big old fashion bus outside.
So we parked up and went to have a scroll round, like any museum you either love or hate them they're not for everyone!
I'm not a big museum fan and the visit was pleasant and had everything there you needed, the staff were lovely and welcoming. All very happy and cheerful which was a lovely bonus.
My daughter got to see lots of buses, and my daughter who was 3 at the time found it amazing that the buses were indoors and weren't outside. She found the dummy's very scary and that was rather annoying as she wouldn't go on a few of the buses, or walk round. However of course they're there for show and to show off the old clothes they had to wear back in the day. Very interesting how uniform has changed since then, and now.
But because of the dummy's took a long time for my daughter to settle down, and enjoy the day. In a part of the museum they have activity and toys for the children and a really cute bus which the kids can go and play in - I would say that was my daughter's favourite part once she finally settled and allowed herself to play and realised that the dummy's weren't real and was just for show.
Loved watching the guys in the garage working on the buses, that was pretty cool and was nice to see the old buses being well looked after and the smell was lovely with the work and just old fashioned smell as my Mum & Nan would say.
As i went back to Essex my Nan and Mum loved looking through the photo's and loved watching my videos for them and said it's lovely and you have well looked after the lovely buses and they bought back so many memorises for them.
There's a tiny cafe and gift shop to which my daughter had just gone round a bus museum and in the gift shop all she wanted was a tractor toy, which made us all laugh in the shop I got a fridge magnet which still sits on our fridge and our daughter still comments about our visit to you.
Would say for sure that overall very welcoming, very clean and everyone is just a pleasure to be around everyone smiles and clearly loves their job!
I've attached a few photo's from our day! Thanks.

Went with my brother to this nice and well laid out transport museum, plenty of vehicles to see, bikes, cars, buses and old trucks.
Nice gift shop/cafe with resonable prices, lots for the kiddies as well. Brings back the memories of a life long gone.

A great little museum and well laid out. Not that interested in buses, but even so spent a couple of hours as there is so much more to see.

An amazing place and well worth a visit. Brilliant exhibits with a potted history of transport across the country and Oxford. Parking is a little tight but we managed to find a space. If you are planning to have a meal in the little cafe you are in for a disappointment as it is drinks and snacks. Over all I would recommend this lovely little museum, the staff/volunteers are so friendly and helpful.

An amazing place with 2 museums in one really. Given all volunteers the presentation and quality is excellent. Would not associate Morris with bicycles or torpedo manufacture (wartime) and the quality of restorations wonderful. Café is small but food and drink very good and very reasonably priced and served with a smile. S0me senior guys around during our walk around who are happy to share a wealth of knowledge and experiences over many years. Well worth a visit.

Lived in Oxfordshire most of my life and never visited the museum, much to my detriment. Fantastic museum with so much to see and do. Great for kids and adults. Loved all the little touches including a momento vintage bus ticket when riding on the free vintage buses. The whole museum is an absolute credit to all that work there and renovate the amazing exhibits, cars, bikes, buses, trams, memorabilia etc etc etc. Will definitely be going again

This museum is local to us but this was our first visit. The volunteers who run it couldn’t have been more friendly and welcoming, and they’re clearly passionate about what they do. There’s a lovely relaxed atmosphere.
Our two year old and three year old really enjoyed being able to climb on some of the buses and there was a lot of information on the boards. The 25 minute ride to Woodstock and back was a real bonus - we went on a Sunday when the bus leaves at 12:15 and 14:15.
Definitely worth a visit for any transport enthusiast - or anyone wanting something a bit different.

Such an interesting little museum. I'm not a bus geek, nor particularly interested in transport in general, but I found the museum fascinating.

All things bus related for in and around oxford A small but lovely museum dedicated to oxfordshire bus services that includes the morris motors museum too. They often have special days, like the day of our visit where it was a military vehicles day.

Have been meaning to visit for years and finally got round to it at the weekend. Superb. Informative. Nostalgic. There’s so much to see – not only buses but also old cycles and Morris motors. Suggested time may be 1-2 hours but we took three and a half and there was so much to read and so many photographs to look at it could have been longer. The volunteers there are absolute heroes for keeping the past alive. And the bus ride was a bonus. Stepping back in time. Loved it.

My 3 year old grandson is mad about buses. Do you have a route master or RMT that he could go on, as he wants to get on a bus with an open platform and a pole at the back. He also likes to go "upstairs". It is 55 miles and 1 1/4 hours each way to get to you.

Hello, Yes we do, a Routemaster is only one particular type of rear entrance bus with an open platform and a pole in the centre of it. We have static examples he can go on and on our two Santa Sundays and 1 Jan 2018 we will have one or two of them offering free rides - subject availability and weather conditions. Why not call before you set off to see if these and/or other types of old buses will be out on the road?

Hi
Do you allow small dogs to come in? We are hoping to visit in 2 weeks while staying in the Cotswolds for our wedding anniversary but we are bringing our little man (Walter the Pug) with us.
Thanks
