Sunday lunch
Very crowded
Service very slow,not enough staff to manage customers adequately.
Staff forgetful
Food adequate, beef ex, meal not very hot, potatoes dried out .

We booked at the horseshoes last minute and not knowing the area but we were definitely not disappointed.
The pub is cosy & the menu had a good mixture of dishes.
The staff were attentive and particularly good with our children, even bringing them a small pot of sweets as we finished.
All food was delicious and amazing quality. My beef shin fell to pieces and my children commented that ‘they were the best chips they’d ever had’.
We wish that we lived closer so we could return on a regular basis!

Popped in for lunch today, greeted with friendly smiles and made to feel very welcome. Lunch was liver and mash wotn onion gravy and was absolutely delicious 😋. Other half had pork with looked great as well.

We attended a "soft opening" and first night of serving food. The menu was not priced and you paid what you thought it was worth.
We overpaid, looking at later menus, so for the price, food was great.
One to definitely try as a dessert was Eccles Cake with cheese. It was AMAZING!
Great atmosphere, lovely old cotswold stone building, good selection of drinks and dog friendly throughout. Good outside space too.

First visit: thee booking went well: I had tried to book with their sister pub online for a Friday noon lunch, was told they aren't open on Friday lunchtime. The member of staff kindly offered to book a table at this pub for us, same date and time, and I duly received a confirmation email.
My guest, who is always prompt with arrangements, came to the pub at 10 to 12, walked in and was greeted by the person we believe to be the owner/manager, with a curt, "not open until 12."
So why was the door unlocked?
Never before have I come across an establishment that opens at exactly the same time as a meal is booked - they usually welcome you in to settle/have a drink etc. Not the way to greet a guest imo - particularly one who has taken the trouble to book. The waiting staff were great, very helpful and pleasant and the fish dish was good - all a bit soured though by the initial unwelcoming stance. Where I work, if clients come in because we have unlocked too early in the morning/not locked up on time in the evening, we smile and serve them.
The pub is clean and fresh, food was not too long to wait for and good. Staff helpful and pleasant, however that initial reception has affected how I rate the establishment on this occasion.

We ate Sunday lunch in the afternoon and it was easily the best meal I've ever eaten. How can someone make Sunday lunch taste THIS special is completely beyond me. The service was first class, the setting and atmosphere was perfect and we had incredibly talented musicians playing live music for us too.

Family meal night before the new g wedding day. Very busy but they managed to add a few more to the party not to disappoint.
Service (Dave and Jack) was excellent and considering how busy they were still kept it timely.
Chef made me a special vegetarian dish, wild mushrooms on a pastry base filled with geeen beans, potatoes, baby onions, peas, lettuce with dressing. Smashed it!!
Very welcoming atmosphere and would recommend.

This pub is a hidden gem! We chose from the short lunch menu. The food was perfectly cooked and delicious. Our host was attentive and friendly. What more could you ask for? We will definitely return.

What a great way to spend a cold January Saturday this was! Instantly felt welcomed like a regular, great selection of local produce and the food was perfectly executed.

We visited here today for a special family meal and we were not disappointed! Service was great, really friendly.. and the pub itself is so beautiful and tastefully decorated. Every meal was so well prepared and delicious. We will be back, so lucky to have this within driving distance, well done!

Sorry I have been away and didn't see your answer. I'm not sure whether there is parking as I was on foot and staying somewhere else. Prob best to give them a call before if it's not too late. Otherwise there is street parking or a car park further up the road.
