Dog waste bins needed! There aren’t any bins anywhere other than at the main entrance. The staff in the shop advised me to place the dog waste in there which seemed awful.
There are poo bags hanging from trees and spread across the forest floor in lots of areas. There should be bins everywhere. People want to clean up and throw rubbish away but it’s not easy when there aren’t bins. For the cost of the car park this should be improved.

A big forest that is separated by the Farnham to Bordon road. Miles of walking and lots of wildlife. The east side has a visitor centre, bike hire, playarea, and cafe. The west side is a bit more remote and boast some great environments including the river wet and the arboretum.

We spent just under four hours here. Easy to find and plenty of parking. We took out little dog & did the 2.5 mile purple route. Forest is very well maintained and there are interesting things to see. There are plenty of play areas for children & we saw several themed like the Gruffalo. Wood carvings of the Gruffalo are excellent and even us adults enjoyed them!
Our only minor complaint is that the trails markings aren’t brilliant in places. We got lost when one marking wasn’t clear - however this wasn’t the end of the world and we just did a slightly different route!
Very clean throughout the first. Clean toilets. Coffee in cafe good. Others have complained about parking costs but I think the charges here are comparable with other similar places nowadays.

We had a great time at Alice Holt! The Zog trail (£4 including stickers, interesting info and interactive photo opportunities) was ideal for our 4 year old, as were the many varied play areas. There was also play equipment suitable for our 18 month old. The forest itself is beautiful, with trees to climb and places to hide! We took a picnic, and although it was busy (school holidays) we found a vacant picnic table fairly easily. The lady in the Visitor Centre was very friendly and helpful, and provided us with a map and information about the various trails. The toilets were clean, with low sinks for the little ones to wash their hands. We treated ourselves to ice creams, which were delicious, although a little expensive. The car park cost £10 for approx 4 hours, which did seem a bit expensive at first; but given the great time we had, was worth the money. I would highly recommend a visit with little ones- they are pretty much guaranteed to enjoy themselves, as are the adults!

Do not eat from their restaurant. Proper poison! I ordered my kids an meal , not only is very very expensive but I think it was cooked 2 days before and it was proper poison. Tasted it my self and couldn’t eat it.

Very expensive to park which would stop me returning. £5 for two hours! However, lots of nice, sign-posted walks so plenty to do. Lots of places to sit, as well. Iced coffees from the café were good but very expensive. However, the café was very hot inside and the chef was shouting at the waitresses that there would be a wait for food so we felt uncomfortable and didn't order any food.

Empty the dog poo bins! The bins were overflowing, it was a warm day and the smell was horrific. The car parking is extremely expensive but if the park was looked after you wouldn’t mind too much. The toilets weren’t clean either. It was busy but there were no staff anywhere to be seen. £9 car park fee for just over 4 hours.

Alice Holt is great but it's very over priced specially for a walk around a woodland area. The parking is more than most town centre charges. Bottles of diet drinks are £3 and food is more of a joke.

Having visited Alice Holt many times we returned with our grandson. They have been moving the Gruffalo trail for months now and we heard that there was a new 'pirates' ship' in the playground area by the reception.
First of all, the Gruffalo trail markings have been removed (hadto ask in reception which trail to follow - answer was both to get most of the characters!) and the characters are now on two different trails. A new Gruffalo and a baby Gruffalo are within yards of each other and the Mouse is near the start but that is it. The other characters are either still on the old trail or missing. The new trail is much longer than the previous one and so unlikely to be of practical interest. It is also the same route as another child orientated trail which consists of a few display boards set far apart.
The new pirate ship is a waste of time for young children. It consists of a mast with crows nest and ropes between a few poles to make the shape of apart of a ship. The crows nest is not suitable at all for younger children and has limited scope for play, especially when compared with the previous ship.

This is a large forest with many activities for children. It has lovely walks, some with great places for children to climb and explore. Play areas, picnic tables, places to fish ( with a licence) Small shop where you can also get a coffee or tea. Toilet facilities. There is a large car park that can get very busy in the school holidays and it is expensive to park if you just want to go for a walk but ok if you are planning to stay there for the day with the kids.
There is also a trail which is supposed to be wheel chair friendly, but can be quite hard if you need to push the wheel chair.

Am I expected to BBQ in the rain or will I get a refund?
I've booked a BBQ for my daughter's 2nd birthday but the weather forecast says to expect torrential rain. I can't expect babies and small children to attend in the pouring rain (and cooking on a BBQ doesn't sound like fun so can I expect a refund or does that not happen?
Would a 4 year old child be able to go around the trails on a scooter?

The walk around the trails is stoney in places and then a classic forest trail. The forest part should be ok but lots of tree roots could be tricky, the stoney parts I wouldn’t recommend a scooter on them. I didn’t see anyone with scooters there. The only concrete parts are by the cafe/entrance.
What are the opening times and closing please?
