One of the best solo art we've seen, love work by Fontana Magee, and he nailed this. Wonderfully, my hubby, a water diviner was attired appropriately when we stopped by.

We came through Barraba and had noticed a couple artworks on the walls in town which were some of the best we have seen. We then drove towards Manilla and saw the silo art depicting the water diviner, which was excellent. Just so real.
There is a pull in area opposite which makes taking photographs easy.

The silo art is amazing- it had such detail and the features were very much like ex Prince Harry. Not sure if anyone else thought the same

L'attraction du coin, ces silos peints par un artiste de Sydney attire bien des curieux. Quelques panneaux informatifs et un joli cadre pour faire des photos, la visite se fait vite.

You can't miss these 40 metre silos but you may miss the small parking area off the highway - so be aware.
This wonderful example of silo art was painted by Fintan Magee and is called The Water Diviner. This is what he says about the mural:
"This mural depicts a local water diviner searching for ground water using a Y-shaped twig or rod or two L-shaped ones. Diviners study the landscape of a farm and walk over areas where they suspect the water may be located; ground minerals and magnetic forces force the sticks to cross or be pushed downwards when water is located. Despite many studies claiming the technique is pseudo-science, diviners continue to be used throughout Australia as a way of finding ground water."

Amazing art on such an enormous structure, situated about an hour North of Tamworth. There's also some lookouts & a lovely lake to drop in & see, Barraba is very quiet especially with COVID but you can get a meal & a coffee.

Victoria is where this craze originated.
Barraba is a fairly recent addiction. It's a good one.
I am fortunate enough to have travelled to Barraba by train in about 1981 when the branch line from Tamworth was still open all the way.
