一个保护人的珍宝之一Eskbank房子建于1842第一部分并添加到1866/1887在今天到你所看到的。 本来是个很大的在它的干草天救她花了几乎20年艾瑞克在1948布里斯还原它,房子现在是由市议会的保护人。 在家里你也可以看到马厩,炼铁区域,陶器博物馆,机械和花园的所以你可不能错过50$6 。。

Called in and was met by 2 men who had great knowledge about everything in Eskbank House. The place had been restored and we were speaking to one of the men who had done a lot of the restoration...well done.
Lovely pottery and courtyard gallery. Lots to see and enjoy

Low key but very interesting

Beautiful house and outbuildings. Original building dates from 1842. Strong associations with the Lithgow iron industry. Much is owed to Eric Bracey who had the forsight to preserve a slice of Australian history in 1948.

Step Back In Time.

One of Lithgow's little gems Eskbank House first part built in 1842 and added to in 1866 / 1887 to what you see today. Would have been an expensive and grand home in its hay days rescued in 1948 by Eric Bracey who spent almost 20 years restoring it, the house is now managed by the Lithgow City Council. Around the home you can also see the Stables, Blacksmith Area, Pottery Museum, Machinery and garden so for $6.50 you can't go wrong.

Great stop off

This place is full of history and charm. My favourite was the blacksmith corner outside with all the carriages.
Lots of photo ops and handling of historic objects. You can organise a tour or just wander at your own leisure.
Nice place to stop for a bit of local history.

Needs Attention but still worth Supporting

The entry price is way too high for what there is to see...really only a couple of rooms (those available were interesting). We're not sure who is running this attraction, but it needs more attention (or a much lower price).
The exterior grounds are okay...best part is the pottery collection, and once you see it you'll just say meh...

Well worth your time to visit...

We found Esbank House and Museum really interesting. We enjoyed seeing the original furniture of that era set up in the rooms, including wallpaper / flooring etc. A loving restoration for the Town. Our 10 & 12 year old had fun in the buildings with the old machinery and the Train...

A double time warp.

A little piece of 1960s interpretation of our colonial past. Built in simple Georgian style using local sandstone it has a typical large surrounding porch under a corrugated iron roof. Established as a house museum in the 60s it is a dated but fascinating interpretation of the 1840-70s. Drop in and visit.

An Insight into Lithgow's Heritage

This is not a large place, but we spent about an hour here, learning about the original owners and gaining an insight into local history. Sadly none of the contents of the house are original, but efforts have been made to give a good representation of the ear and the information signs are informative.
