We were camping at Buck Creek State Park and it was a rainy day. Decided to check out this wonderful winery.
John was amazing. He let us try the wines and told us the story behind them all. Love that so many of them have names of the family. We learned all about the grapes and types of wines and even saw where they are produced. Ended up buying lots of wine and had a great afternoon. We highly recommend this winery.

We have been here a few times, when we camp or go to Cabelas, we now stop here. The staff is always friendly and they are passionate about their wine, family, and winery. The Piccin family makes you feel valued and part of their family. The patio is now open too. Our friends who we took down really enjoyed our time there.

Some friends and I came for a girls afternoon out. We weren’t sure what to expect, but decided to give it a try. It was the perfect afternoon! This little family owned and operated winery has great atmosphere, and the wine was wonderful. We started out with a flight to try several different wines. They took the time to talk to us about the different wines, where they get their grapes, how they named them after family members, and we even got a tour of the building where they make their wines. We ended the afternoon with a glass of their fabulous wine in their cozy tasting room (and several bottles to take home!). Highly recommend checking them out. You will not be disappointed!

We were in Wheeling for an off-beat weekend away, and I added Vino di Piccin on a lark because we visit a lot of wineries closer to home, why not in ... the Ohio Valley? Sure, why not.
These folks put a lot of care into what they do. We got a full tasting experience that was full of personal and local culture, and even though not every wine was a hit for the two of us, we both found plenty that we enjoyed. Had an extra glass each in our remaining time there, and took a couple of bottles home.
I come from a place like Lansing (the familiar accent was a treat!), and I really wish that more of our working-class communities that have maybe seen better days had institutions like VdP to serve them. You could tell that local folks appreciate the place -- it was packed!

This was by far one of the most amazing experiences that I’ve had at a winery. We stopped in to taste the wine and left 2 hours later with memories that will keep us coming back for more. Lou and John (two of the owners) took time to make sure the experience was second to none. We truly felt like we were one of the family when we walked out the door. Whether you are local or traveling through the St. Clairsville / Wheeling area, you have to stop in. I guarantee a visit to remember. Thank you for the special memories... we will be back (many times).

Vino di Piccin winery has always been on my list of things to do when I'm in town (from St. Clairsville but live in South Carolina now), but for some reason I have never been able to visit. My husband and I came home for Christmas this year and finally were able to go today and we were not disappointed! I will say this the best winery in the valley. Period. Much better than Black Sheep and the atmosphere rivals any of the bigger vineyards around. I highly recommend Vino di Piccin if you're in the area. I can't wait to go back over the summer when I return to Ohio. I'm excited to hear the live music and sit on the patio to enjoy one of their many memorable wines!

One of the owners gave us hours worth of entertainment and lots of delicious tastes in this wonderful and super cute winery right outside Wheeling WV in Lansing Ohio. We are thinking Sharon was her name.
It was great. We got whole family story. This winery was started by a large family of kids after Grandparents and Parents made wine themselves. Lovely little place and they also have a patio with winey frozen slushes!! Yummy.
Definitely a place we will frequent on our weekend away there!!!!

I have been to wineries in NY, PA, OH, VA, DE, NC, MD, WV, KY, GA, MI, MN, and Canada. I have had some great experiences. None of those places can compare to the experience we had from Vino di Piccin. You could taste the care and pride the family puts into the wine. My friend felt it rivals Gervasi Vineyard in Canton. I can't say your experience will be just like mine. I can guarantee you will be pleasantly surprise. You will enter as a stranger and leave with the feeling that you are one of the Piccin's family friends. Great atmosphere, superior knowledge of grapes, wines, and complexity, and the ability to take my mind of the political turmoil of the day.
We happened to stop because it was on our way back from our day trip. For some reason they are not on taste Ohio wines. We are planning to bring other friends back to enjoy this hidden gem. While you may not be blown away by the surrounding area, which is full of good friendly people. You will no doubt be impressed with your experience and be glad you ventured in for a visit. But don't take my word for it. Stop in and form your own opinion.

This lovely winery has become a family favorite of ours. The interior is warm and homey, with plenty of tables and chairs to accommodate their patrons. There is also seating on the outdoor porch and patio. They offer wine slushies in the summer months and mulled wine in the winter months (both are fantastic!!) The staff are friendly, helpful, and knowledgable. Cannot recommend this place enough.

My mom, my fiancé and I were driving through the area for a wedding and I happened to see their name on google maps. We thought, what could a 8 minute detour really do?! As we approached the building we thought hmmm, this looks interesting. What an absolute gem of a find! Wow! The wines were absolutely fantastic! I would compare them to the amazing wine we had in Portland, Oregon. The atmosphere was welcoming and there was live music on the patio! Some of the owners were there- I would tell you the history, but I will leave that to you to find out when you stop in! This is an absolute must see!

What are some good nearby restaurants?
Hi Nancy:
Sorry for the delayed response. Unfortunately, TA won't allow me to advertise for the local restaurants. I tried to elaborate and even included my cell phone, but it wouldn't send. Trying yet again.
Try Abbey's on Wheeling Island or Figaretti's in Wheeling.
