Over the past few years, the improvements and upgrades to Shaker Run have transformed it into a resort golf experience. Outstanding course design with three separate 9-hole courses to choose from or combine for a choice of 18. All 3 courses offer a different experience.

Golfed Sunday morning with old neighbors. Started on Lakeside then Meadows. Both courses challenging but not intimidating. I prefer Lakeside over Meadows. Terrain & scenery of Lakeside was worth it. I didn't care for Meadows. A bit more open. Houses & the terrain was "under construction" with housing. Just wasn't as nice & peaceful imo. Staff very friendly, the clubhouse very nice. I would return but it's 1 3/4 hr drive for me.

This course is terrible. The course pro, Ryan Nightingale, is extremely rude and unprofessional. We booked lakeside/woodlands and he booted us off the 10th fairway, woodland #1, because of an outing and told we had to play lakeside again or meadows. We informed him we booked this side and told us we should of played this side first. We played lakeside first because my confirmation lists it first. There is NO starter at any of the 3 9s and the front desk said nothing about which side to play first. When I asked Ryan how I was supposed to know, he boldly claimed he has been hearing the front desk employees tell everyone all day long. My foursome checked in at 3 separate times 5-10 minutes apart and none of us were informed. Ryan did not apologize nor admitted guilt. He basically called me a liar by saying he knows I was told which side to play first.
Course is in terrible condition. They let the bunkers go on the meadows course by allowing weeds and grass to grow. Construction around the course is annoying and there's a temporary tee box because of it.
I will never play here again. There's nothing worse than a course thats struggling to survive to have terrible management treating its customers poorly.

Played in May with a group of 12 that travelled here from Northwest Ohio. Have played the course a few times in the past and was concerned about a couple of negative reviews that were attached to the golf course. My opinion is that this still is a gem of a course. Conditions were very good, the layout is very playable and interesting (yes they are building some homes around the course but its really OK). Yes, the sand traps need a bit of attention but it seems they are working on them. Greens fairways and tee areas are outstanding. Play it and enjoy it- Next time I'm in the area I'm teeing it up at Shaker Run.

Been playing this track for 35 years. When Armco had it, they put tons of money into its upkeep. Stunning layout amid well treed countryside framed by a beautiful lake and streams. From the tips, a players course all around.
Fast forward to current times....
Positives: Nice upgraded clubhouse, pro shop, restaurant, reasonable green fees
Negatives: Very little money for maintenance. Sand traps are mostly mud, although they claim they are restoring them "soon". Woodside is pretty much intact, as it was back in the time. Fairways could use some TLC and greens were very dry with some bare spots. All in all, Woodside is passable, except for the traps. Now Lakeside...Someone decided to build cheap houses and condos around and within this nine hole layout. Construction everywhere...the natural beauty of this side is lost forever. Condos going in between #4 and #6. Hole 7 has been reduced to a par 3+ with all 4 sets of tees in the same location. Even part of the fairway on # 3 was under construction and not passable for carts.
This use to be one of the finest tracks in the Cincy-Dayton area, public or private. Now reduced to just another piece of property, not worthy of any special consideration. A real shame for this once majestic gem.

The clubhouse is great as is the course layout. It is not maintained well, sand traps are nearly empty and grass needed to be cut. It has 3 courses, 9 holes each. They should never make someone play the meadows.
They have a bar and restaurant and the food is reasonable. Do not order if you are in a hurry, as service is poor. No urgency at all.
With some care and good management, this could be a super place.

Wow, what a terrible experience. Booked for Lakeside and Woodlands but when I check-in, I'm informed that there are two outings going on so we're put on Meadows. Meadows is in TERRIBLE shape. The bunkers were not playable - not a single one. The greens were in bad shape as well. Fine, we finish 9 on Meadows and then we're told to tee-off on Lakeside. 2 holes into our 9 on Lakeside, the tell us that we need to go to Woodlands instead. There was no one in front of us but they forced us to switch 9s. We get to Woodlands and there is a 3 group backup on the first tee.
At this point, I've had enough. Go inside and they won't issue a refund. They offer a gift certificate for 18 holes but won't refund my credit card. Finally, they call the manager and I'm thinking this is going to get resolved. No. The manager will only offer a gift certificate. The worst part, at no time did anyone apologize.
The only thing worse the condition of the course was the customer service. They should be ashamed. Don't waste your money. Too many other great courses around Cincinnati/Dayton.

I haven't been here for years and found the course to be ill managed. Customer service is lacking, the rough is all weeds, the greens and fairways full of bald spots. To a man everyone said they wouldn't be back due to the conditions. There are many courses in pristine shape for half the price.

For openers, this is a FANTASTIC piece of property and the layout it truly worth raving about. The compliments end there. It is obvious that this place is dying. It has been through several owners and has been grossly neglected. The tees and greens are for the most part a disaster. The fairways, for the most part, look like someone came along and killed the undesirable grasses but forgot to follow up with fertilizer. A real shame because the potential is very high.
