As a long time auto racing fan, I realize there are things that are completely out of my control; weather and accident clean-ups among them. However, I would expect the race track to also respect the needs of the fans.
This weekend's three days at Eldora Speedway encompassed fans of all ages, but many very young and many who are collecting Social Security. Having each evening's events end past midnight is not a good idea for either of these age groups. The racing was entertaining and the fans were plentiful and engaged, but there were so many times that there was dead time and it appeared that there was no priority by the speedway to keep the program moving along.
We made such an effort to research the parking options in light of the direction we needed to drive after the races. The first two nights, we were thrilled with exiting our chosen parking. On night #3, an announcement was made at the Speedway before the FINAL race of the evening that traffic patterns were changing and if anyone was parked on the other side of the road (which was us), we wouldn't even be allowed to cross the street to access our car until 30 minutes after the end of the race. And if we had a passenger car (which we do), we would be the last priority to exit the lot. We quickly opted to skip the final race - which is what we paid to see - and get out before we weren't allowed to. Even with missing the final race, we got back to our hotel 20 miles from the track at midnight. We spoke to another race fan at our hotel the next morning who stayed for the final race - he got back to the hotel at 3am. This experience will make us re-think ever attending another event at Eldora.
I credit Tony Stewart for embracing his ownership of this historical auto racing venue, but the needs of the race teams & speedway need to be balanced with the needs and safety of the fans. The races held at Eldora have such a positive financial impact on this beautiful are of Ohio & I hope that the negatives of this past weekend's events can be resolved to ensure the maintenance of the devoted fan based.

Really hoping that the races can happen this year. We had such an amazing time last year and are very sad that we had to miss one race already!

I have been going to this track for the past 7 years. Free parking and good food. Race fans are the best and yest to meet unfriendly people there. Good selection of merchandise for the drivers that attend the races. Track is fast and smooth. ALWAYS A GREAT RACING SHOW

My buddy and I went to the dirt derby best handicap parking ever we were 20 feet from front entrance everything is priced reasonable where can u goto a nascar race and drink 2 dollar beers and 4 dollar
Mixed drinks if you go you gotta have a Toillet water or 5 lol I was very impressed with this track it is the best dirt track on earth the racing is the best I have seen in my life will be back again and can’t wait

It’s a great dirt track! The Nascar Truck series was awesome! Been to alot of dirt tracks but this track is definitely family friendly with great prices on concession food!!! Keep up the great job Tony Stewart!!!!👍👍

My son and I went here for the Dirt Late Model Dream race. It was a great time. The racing was close and exciting. The facility is awesome! Easy in and out, $5 parking, $2 beers and also the food was very cheap. There are plenty of restrooms and they are clean. Here are some tips for this race. Bring ear plugs, stadium seat pad and make sure you have glasses or googles to keep the dust out of your eyes.

The world of outlaws show is second to none. Great place to see World of Outlaws sprints and USAC. They have a great facility, good bathrooms, good food and good adult beverages. This is one of the best ran tracks in the nation. If you want to see a great show, I fully recommend it.

What a great place and it’s amazing that kids under 13 are FREE!
Most events will soak you for food but not here it’s affordable, $2 hot dogs a hamburger is $3.50.
The GA seats are fine all with great view of the track. Great place to see some of the best dirt racing in USA.
The reason for 4 stars and not 5.... smoking is allowed and I just could not get away for the cigarette smoke.

It was my first time here for the 4 crown nationals this past weekend and I'll definitely be back! Clean facility, bar and bathrooms are easy to get to. Prices are great on food and alcohol. Bartenders are friendly. Upgraded my ticket for a pit pass ($5) and I'm glad I did. Camp ground is large and golf carts are allowed to help get around the facility.

Are an advance ticket purchase to the 4 Crown Nationals recommended or would we be able to buy them the day of the race? Hate to drive all that way and not be able to get in.

You shouldn't have a problem getting tickets. There were a lot of seats open last year when I went, especially General Admission. There was even some camping open too.

We sat in the area above the roof line and we loved our seats. You can see everything well. It is covered there too which was nice due to the high temps. It was my first visit but my Father has seats for the event you are going to and he wishes he had the seats we had when we want! That area is close to concessions and restrooms, close to main entrance. A-G above the roof line is great in my opinion. I believe bleachers do not have any covered roof. Have fun!

We stayed at the Best Western in Wapakoneta. Its excellent and only 30 minutes away. There are no hotels close to El Dora. There is a town name Celina which you also drive thru on the way to El Dora and they have a small Inn called West Bank Inn. You may want to check with them as well. Otherwise, Best Western was excellent and we highly recommend it.
