So. Much. Fun. We had a such a good time touring this place. Our tour guide was entertaining and informative as well as obviously interested in the Hoover history. The displays will bring back memories from your mother's and grandmother's vacuum cleaners. To be honest, the machines have not changed their styles very much in the past century. The smokestacks make the nearby factory easily recognizable as Hoover was a big part of this town for a long, long time. So glad we went.

Don’t let the outside of the building turn you away from going on this tour. It’s approximately 45 minutes long and a lot of information is had during this time. Our tour guide was excellent. She definitely knows her Hoover vacuum history. We learned a lot about Hoover. What a great company! We even reminisced every time we saw a product that our family had had a some point. Again, great free tour.

Off the main trail and off-beat museum. Free, easy to find and plenty of parking. Note that tours are only on the hour during a normal workday. Museum consists of a home and barn. The barn is where Hoover started a business and the house holds the majority of exhibits. Tours are not self-guided, a docent tells you about the highlights and company history and you progress through the rooms. It was surprising to me the array of devices, other than vacuums, that Hoover made. Each was clearly marked with a description and date. The docent was knowledgeable and pleasant, but seemed to be "locked in" to standard spiel and timeframe. There were many product examples that we did not have time to look at or read about because we were moving on. That was disappointing.

I feel like the words friendly and informative get used a lot in reviews but this time it is really necessary. The museum is in William Hoover's childhood home and was moved about 500 feet in the 90s. The tour guide gives a in depth history of the Hoover company while it still being fun. Each room is about a different time period from 1908 to 2008 and there is many artifacts and pictures to see. At the back of the house there is the tannery (currently closed) and some beautiful gardens to enjoy and the end of your tour.

This is a worthwhile stop. It will take about 45 minutes. The building is old but very well kept. The outside flower gardens are just beautiful. There are many different flowers, plants, bushes and trees to see.

Both of my children had to attend a museum and write up a review. I ended up using the Hoover historical museum for both of them over the years.
I found the museum informative and interesting. Anyone who is lived in North Canton knows the history of the Hoover company. But seeing the early vacuum it was really neat.
I highly recommend spending 1 to 2 hours

Nice, informative tour in old Hoover home. Enjoyed learning the history of the sweeper. Awesome that it's free! Allow 45 min or so.

We stopped just because of the name. We Hoovers all wore Hoover for President pins to visit the Hoover Historical Center. No relationship three different Hoover families. What a pleasant surprise and interesting to see the history of the vacuum. My grandson called it he Hoover old sweeper house. Fred, our guide, had worked at Hoover for over 40 years and interjected humor with the history. Good way to spend a hour. Visit you'll be glad you did. Every day is better with a Hoover!

Have lived here all of my life and learned many things that I did not know about Hoover Company. Had a great 'tour guide' whom was very knowledgeable.

Beautiful gardens align walkway and paths throughout gardens to get closer and appreciate work of volunteers who tend these gardens. Tour Guides here are excellent - learning the history of the Hoover family and Company is rewarding - a modest beginning for the family, a small business that grew to be international - all Hoover did for their community and philanthropy carried out by this museum in honor of The Hoover Co most impressive. Visit this summer as they celebrate their 40th anniversary and get a free T-Shirt!
