I live in Perrysburg and wanted to learn more about the area’s interesting history and this museum did not disappoint. The docents were extremely knowledgable, friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.

We just always love to visit any historical home and this one is especially nice. We admired our docent and the concern that she has that history should be preserved. The collections in the museum immediately place you back in time and you can get a great sense of how our ancestors lived. The folks at this museum have done a wonderful job of preserving the past and we respect them for it. Thank you for that!

Just an amazing collection of stuff. The docents are incredibly knowledgable and can answer almost any question on local history. Just down the road from Fort Meiggs another jewel.

After waiting so many years for this place to open, I was amazed. Doing genealogy and knowing my past relatives help build Perrysburg, It was so fun to realize the past was being brought into the present. Learning so much about how my ancestors lived and the obstacles they had to overcome.

This museum opened in June 2014 after 13 years in planning. It is located in the original 1823 Greek Revival home of Judge Aurora Spafford, a son of the founder of Perrysburg, Amos Spafford. The collections and displays include an early American settler's kitchen, an old-fashioned schoolroom, Judge Spafford's chamber / library, Native American artifacts, Military, Fire & Police memorabilia, and documents relating to the history of the City of Perrysburg and surrounding area. Take in this museum after visiting nearby Fort Meigs (War of 1812) to learn the history of Perrysburg following the war. The museum's staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about the history of the Perrysburg area.
