My husband and I attended Ohio Star theater for Ruth tonight and I was wonderful! The singers were so very very good! The actress who played Ruth has an excellent voice with such power. The whole cast was awesome! Naomi, Boaz, the trio of females. Thank you for bringing the Bible alive. We have been to Sight and Sound before and this venue is smaller but all it lacks was a few square feet! The camel was great and the sheep were huge! Thank you for all your hard work! Truly appreciated it! God bless!!

This was my first time at the OHIO STAR THEATRE, where my friend and I went to see the SIGHT AND SOUND PRODUCTION of RUTH. I was prepared to be somewhat disappointed because I had already seen a few Sight and Sound productions in a HUGE theatre in Lancaster, PA. and did not think a small theatre like the Ohio Star could do justice to one of their productions. HOWEVER, this play was magnificent and I loved every minute of it. If the Ohio Star Theatre offers another Sight and Sound production I will try to go (even though I live in another state and it is quite a long drive).

We saw the musical Ruth and it was excellent. The seats were very comfortable with a good view of the stage and the the sound was good. The actors and singers were exceptional. It was a joy to hear the music. There were live animals including sheep and a camel in the production. The theatre holds about 500. It is easy to find and has a market, a restaurant "Dutch Valley", a gift shop and a motel all on the same grounds. We purchased the theater tickets and a buffet meal at Dutch Valley together as a package. It was a great experience and we would love to go back.

We have been spoiled, that is, my church group and I, from attending stellar Christian plays at Lancaster's iconic Sight and Sound Theater, and really, were not expecting a matching effort at Ohio Star Theaters presentation of " Ruth, The musical."
Uh, wrong!
Most of the performers were making their first appearances at this cozy 500 seat auditorium in idyllic Sugarcreek, Ohio , and I may tell you that they will make many more stage appearances in the future, owing to a fabulous introductory start!
The musical is well written, with dramatic. and at times, humorous acting supplemented with powerful and compelling songs of praise!
Flawless performances from a rather large ensemble enhanced with historically accurate attire captivated the full house of attendees.
The backdrop artistry was another highlight of the evening, with artwork that made observers feel that the stage expanded well beyond the dimensions of the theater. This added so much to a sense that we were actually in the Holy Lands at the time of Ruth and her mother-in-law, Naomi.
Sight and Sound is a tough one to match, but in this writer's opinion, Ohio Star Theater succeeded in doing so. Prayerfully, the venue will include more stories/names from the Bible in the future.
I would like to mention the pleasantness of the ushers and hosts in getting our group quickly to our seats. Yup, there's not a bad seat in the house!
Nummies and drinks are available in the lobby, and they have no problem with them being carried into the house.

Very comfortable seats, and good sound. Could use more snacks!! But not necessary!
Needs more seating areas when waiting to go in.
A lot of people did not silence phones...maybe a couple signs? They did ask people to. Maybe more forceful?!

This was my 3rd time at the Ohio StarTheater. My travel companions and I attended the musical play “ Dear Soldier Boy”. We all enjoyed the play very much. The seating is comfortable with plenty of leg room. The view of the stage, even on the far right was good. We plan to attend again in November for another play and stay in the Carlisle Inn, which is within walking distance from the theater.

We hadn't planned to see a show but booked on recommendation of a merchant. Artrageous was the name of the show we saw. Interesting mix of singers and talented artists that painted canvases on stage.

The show (Josiah for President) was really entertaining. The cast was sensational- and the show toggles between humor and heart with skill. A must-see if you are anywhere close.
AFTER the show, eat at the neighboring restaurant. Food is tasty, portions are massive. Wash it down with a delicious offering from the bakery!
Hospitality everywhere was very pleasant and engaging.

Would have rated a 5 but the show had to input their political shots that just took away our super evening a notch. @nd half performance of Josiah for President started with a litany of movements and had to show the Obama…. Seen this in. Previews would never attend. Others wise great performance by cast and crew. Advice> Upgrade your 2nd half opening of this performance for a Awesome Ratings,

Do you have to buy tickets online before you go, or can you just arrive a little before 1pm for "Stolen"...buy your tickets and see the show ? We are coming to the area, and not sure how this works... also I noticed you can purchase a MEAL along with the tickets.. but that is all it says.. how to get more info on the meal, where it is, what it is.. etc...thank you...

There is a ticket both at the Ohio Star theater so if they aren't sold out you could buy them there. The Dutch Valley site has a hotel, gift shop, grocery store, bakery and restaurant in addition to the theater.

It depends on what show you're seeing. If you have tickets to the 1pm concert, you'll eat at 4pm. If you're seeing the 9pm concert, your meal is at 7pm.
